Tajaa Pha SHOULD be using a photo from their rooftop garden as their hero-pic....! It's where had a lovely breakfast each day, served by Saiendra our excellent host, and his daughter Shia. We loved this view - just far enough above the noisy maelstrom that is Kathmandu. And - in SUCH a great part of this city - Patan, the old kingdom, which we came to know quite well - from the brilliant Patan Museum, to the junior ping-pong comp we stumbled across one evening. Cannot speak highly enough - our hosts were always at call - from a broken light-globe, to changing money, to ordering cabs. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. A memorable time.....!

I stayed at the Tajaa Pha for 17 nights while attending workshops and meetings in Kathmandu. The location is superb because many good restaurants are within a short walking distance and the major tourist sights of Patan are also very close by. Best of all, you will be staying with very nice people that will take great care of you. I truly enjoyed my breakfast talks with the hotel owner (BTW, breakfast is very tasty...fruit salad, muesli, masala omelette and if you get lucky, home baked goodies). Overall, if you like to stay away from the hassle of central Kathmandu's Thamel area, then you will find the Tajaa Pha a great alternative.I look forward to my next stay!

I spent 2 nights on my own in this friendly and warm-hearted B&B and felt totally well taken care of. The owner, Shailendra, is incredibly fun and chatty to welcome me to their hotel. This is a family run hotel that you'll feel it's taken care of with love in every detail. I am offered to the room facing the back garden which is very very quiet at night with a cute balcony. The room is spacious and the bed is huge. The hot water is great and they provide you with additional tooth brushes and pastes. The room is spotless. The breakfast is prepared by the family and it's delicious. I had Bara pancake one day and toast the next. You can enjoy the peaceful view from the little pond in the heart of Pantan over breakfast on the rooftop. Fruit is also provided in the room, which is really nice as I haven't been able to eat much veggies in Nepal. The host family made me feel like home. I really enjoyed my stay. If you are looking for something quieter, I think this is the hotel you cannot miss. It's 10 mins walk to most of the landmarks. Pantan has beautiful small alley that you should try to get lost in walking along those streets and taking the views of the beautiful architectures it offers. I'll def come back!

If you look for a peaceful, tranquil yet friendly place to stay, this is an absolute choice. I'm amazed by the pond view outside the window. You can still see people connect with each other like a family around. That reminds me the importance of people relationship. The owner is very helpful. The only thing you should be aware of is: this is no air-conditioning (but it's totally fine with the light weather) and the hot shower is just a bit warm.
