Coming to stay in a palace and then finding out the AC unit isn’t functioning. The facility is old and needs to be renovated. You cannot control your AC unit. They claim it is turned off during the day between 6 am and 4 pm and apparently I was the only one complaining. However, we are paying customers and expect everything to function especially when you have little children and the room is at 24 degrees the whole time. We ended up cancelling the night and going elsewhere. The receptionist is rude and does not give you the comfort you are looking for. There is plenty of parking outside at a cheaper rate than their 15 euros per night. At the price paid, you can get better at a walking distance.

Everyone was very friendly, specifically the staff at the bar. Breakfast buffet was nice with many options and good coffee. Room was very clean and had a lot of soace. Bathroom was nice with a good shower. Air Conditioner and n the room worked well. Pool could have more sun chairs as it was like all the time crowded during our stay in August. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants in the center (10 minutes) The Funicolare to Montecantini Alto is also only 15 minutes by feet away.

Awesome experience! Beautiful, classic, quiet hotel. Great front desk help. The breakfast buffet with custom coffee orders was exceptional. Very peaceful setting.

Set in a quiet area and an easy short walk into town. Nice pool but very few sun loungers and not very much shade. Good continental breakfast which can be taken on the outside terrace if you want to. Diana and Elisabeth on the front desk are very helpful indeed. A pleasant stay for a few days whilst exploring the area.

I have a dinner al fresco in the terrazzo. Amaizing

A well positioned Hotel in the city centre but the hotel service needs to improve in cleaning and maintenance. I got less than expected.

Excellent hotel

Gorgeous hotel downstairs, our bedroom was lovely and bright with a huge double shuttered window that opened out onto the garden and hill view. Our friends however had a split level room which dark & had a lot of wasted space in it so it did not have any chairs to on a the tv was where mirror should have been. It only had a very small window which didn’t open. Choose your room carefully. Hotel services could be much better it coffee machines were in rooms and a water/ice machine was available on each floor. You could buy water from the bar, however this was often unmanned so had to go to reception to ring for bar person to come down and then go back to bar to be served. It was pretty costly as well. There was only one staff member in bar area when it was manned. A bar menu was on display however nothing available except 2 types of focaccia . The bar lounge area was more of a meeting area rather than a social place to sit with friends. It was very tastefully decorated however sadly lacked any atmosphere. Hotel was ok and would be much more appealing if more services available.

Very enjoyable stay in an Edwardian style hotel. Staff were delightful and very welcoming. The room was very comfortable, but the bathroom was small. The shutters remain permanently closed which is a shame as there would have been a great view on Montecatini Alto. The surrounding environment is delightful.

I booked this hotel as a treat for my son and his wife to have a break from their home in lucca while we were visiting. The hotel was immaculate and the staff were very friendly. The only criticism would be the amount of sun beds available around the pool. This would not stop me from booking again.
