This hotel is an experience from the moment you walk in. It's lovely and historical and full of character. The staff are very professional.
We were in black pepper no 1 room with a 4 poster bed and roll top bath.
While I would absolutely recommend the hotel for a lovely experience and a nice spa. Sherry, coffee and bottled water in the room was lovely, we did experience a few disappointments.
The biggest reason for booking the hotel was the appeal of piano playing over breakfast. Unfortunately though, at least during our two night stay, the piano player sat reading the paper for the first half an hour of breakfast, by which time we had finished and were heading out on excursions so we didn't actually get to hear it. That was frustrating.
Also the internet didn't work in our room for most of our time there. It was fixed on the second night.
Also don't book this hotel if you are a light sleeper unless you want the experience. It was quite noisy with screaming drunk people outside. Despite closing the shutters and curtains it was still hard to sleep.
