Not suitable for oku and old people cause need to climb the staircase due to hotel located at the top of the hill. Any related to access need to coming down to reset. Midnight the main gate was closed so need to walk around the hill using back door. No TV. Room was very clean & hospitality jus enough.

We got a pool facing room which was great, and unlike other reviewers, these rooms are quite quiet. Pool was the highlight. Breakfast was simple and ok for backpackers. But we didn't bother. Orange juice was hot one day. One complaint though: we asked housekeeping to come clean the room 4 times but they failed to come and then finally when they were old they went home, even though we were promised they would do up the room and clean it a bit after they did not clean the day before. Strange that it's not a big boutique hotel but for 9 hours, the 3 housekeepers missed our room even after being snubbed at reception that "slowly, they go from room to room '. Well obviously they went from the room next door to home.

I love it! In the centre of kuching town. Everywhere is walkable. Beautiful mansion with a lot of history. Decent staff. A lot of books and lounge area if you want to chill. If you have problem walking up stairs, try to ask for ground room.

The view of the hotel is very nice but there is nothing much else to do there unless you go outside of the hotel. There is not even a tv in my room. The room is small but the toilet is big. There is no rubish bin in the room, and for me the most infuriating is the room is not sound proof. You can literally can hear people talk from the outside. Also the bed has no comforter. The blanket is thin like paper.

Always a perfect choice for simple and comfortable getaway in Sarawak. Beautifully restored grand hilltop 100+ years old place; used to be dormitory for priests and nuns. Will always comeback here and try all the different styled rooms.
