Excellent location, right in the middle of downtown Kochi. Staff were very helpful and welcoming even to foreign tourists and used more English than expected. The Family Mart on the ground level was extremely convenient. The pillows were a bit hard but they gave us extra pillows when we asked for them. Overall, a very good stay.

This was our favorite hotel. It had everything it had an onsen with a massage chair and a laundry room which you can monitor the busyness of the laundry room or the onsen from your TV in your room- brilliant! So far it’s the only hotel we’ve seen in Japan, where they are actively trying to decrease the plastic waste. Instead of stocking all sorts of crap in the room they have it available at the elevators. This is a welcome change. All that plastic in Japan is driving us nuts.

Dormy Inn Kochi is an excellent place to stay! The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Harimayabashi and the city’s main attractions, making it easy to explore Kochi.

Very central location and good breakfast. However, terrible communication (5-6 emails and Expedia messages asking about parking went unanswered, until I finally got a single sentence reply that I should see the list of affiliated car parks, but did not include the lists! So I had to ask my previous hotel reception to call them, after which they sent a fax). Chlorine in the communal bath was not nice. Temperature in the room impossible to get right.

Great location. Friendly Staff. 4 free washing machines to use. Clothes dryer is ¥100 for 20min. Car parking is just around the corner. It's called OK parking. Overnight parking was ¥600 with hotel parking slip validation.

Excellent hotel with onsen, centrally located next to Obiyamachi covered shopping street. Amazing breakfast with local specialties such as seared bream, yuzu juice and lots of little sweet and sour dishes to tempt you. Close to Kochi Castle and short tram ride to Kochi Museum of Art. MyYu bus will take you to Katsurahama beach. The famous covered market is nearby and super place to eat.

We enjoyed the onsen, with free ice cream snacks, the coffee in the lobby available early in the morning and the included ramen at night. The free laundry ( self use washer) was also very convenient. There was an enclosed smoking room on the floor of our room, but the smoke smell did get into the hallway. Larger or extra pillows in the room would be helpful.

Dormy is always a comfortable stay. Used the Hot Springs 3 times a day, ate the soba and the ice cream bars. Location was great!

I always love staying at a Dormy Inn! This location had the bath and other services like late night udon, after bath snacks and a manga library. Rooms are very spacious and come with a welcome gift in the fridge. The location is great since it's a nice walk to Hirome Market and other shops. Only minor inconvenience was parking - it just took longer to access the car (instead of a lot, the car is stored in a vertical parking garage). Would highly recommend staying here if you're in Kochi :)

I love the Dormy Inn chain. Check-in was fast and easy. The staff was so helpful. The location of this Dormy was incredible, there's so much around it and close to the train station. The room was small, even by Japan standards. There was really no place to put my roller bag and the closet was non-existent. I could almost touch both walls at the same time. I think I had a room in London once that was smaller. The bed was a bit hard and pillow kind of tired. The onsen was very nice, one of the best and the massage chairs were a great perquisite. The breakfast buffet was very good - again, the staff was so nice. I want to return to Koichi because of it's history, food and culture, but I would book a bigger room.
