We had 3 rooms for the 3 brothers staying, Friday, Sat and Sunday nights.
We were not aware or not told at check that on Friday nights they have bands downs stairs (rooms 11 to 16 are above the auditorium). So coming back at 9pm there was noise and especially reverberations (unbelievable) in two of my brother's rooms, 11 and 16. My room no 3 was OK. Otherwise the rooms were well sound proofed but not from a Black Sabbath tribute band from below. The rooms otherwise were good value for money. Above the pub next to a main road with plenty of buses heading to the city. Some basic maintenance issues, like a robe hook on the bathroom door about to fall off, hot water taps in the showers falling off detract from well cleaned, well presented, good sized rooms.
Beware, there a no lifts. We had to flights or stairs from the car park and the reception is staffed overnight.
I did email management about the noise of the bands and they happily refunded the two rooms costs for the Friday night.
Beware Friday nights if you have come for peace and quiet.
