The rooms were clean and hotel had an overall nice ambiance. Located in an overall walkable area, but is a bit further from some of the sites.

Good hotel

It really didn't feel like I was staying at a 5 star hotel(even tho they say so with awards and everything). The room I booked seemed bigger in the picture(good marketing I guess)than reality. In my room the ceiling was very low and the bed almost cover all the space. The bed decorations seemed old and outdated. That decoration of printing paintings(with frames included) didn't really feel like 5 star decorations, felt cheap, however on the pictures advertised looked good. In the front of the hotel there was an abandoned building where homeless people go and sleep.

This is a beautiful hotel. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would love to return sometime. It's close to everything you might want to do in Prague, including public transportation if you don't want to walk. The staff is very friendly and the room was super comfortable.

I recently stayed at Mystery Hotel Budapest and while the property itself was beautiful and the stay comfortable, I unfortunately had a negative experience when it came to the handling of my deposit. At check-in, a 100 EUR (approx. 15,047 ISK / 40,000 HUF) deposit was taken as a standard procedure. However, after checkout, I was also charged separately for two breakfasts – 20,767 HUF (approx. 7,812 ISK / 52 EUR) – which I paid as an independent transaction. Despite this, the hotel insisted that the breakfast amount was deducted from the deposit. After sharing my bank statements clearly showing the breakfast was charged in a separate transaction, the hotel failed to acknowledge the discrepancy or take any meaningful steps to investigate or correct the issue. To date, the original 100 EUR deposit has not been returned to my account. I tried to resolve this issue directly and reasonably with the hotel, but the response I received simply redirected me to my bank, rather than double-checking their own records. If you’re staying here, I strongly recommend keeping detailed records of any charges and verifying deposit returns carefully. It’s disappointing to have an otherwise pleasant stay overshadowed by poor financial handling and lack of accountability.

A complete charming surprise. This hotel is a real gemstone in the heart of Budapest. Perfect location just behind Nyugati Train Station, stuff with deep service orientation, beautiful room. What can I say, it felt like fairytale ❤️

The property was great with very interesting and quirky design. Staff were exceptional and the way that they treated my dog was some of the best I have ever experienced.

Like everything about this hotel, BUT , the hotel have no health and safety awareness. Stairs have no banisters (hand rail). A friend fell a few steps because of that.

I would very much recommend this hotel as I already have done to all my friends already, you won't be disappointed as it's just a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and beautifully quirky. The only thing I can mark down in the facilities area is that the bar closes at 10:30pm even at the weekends which is considerably early for me. It's also a superb choice for wheelchair users, easily accessible. I really rate this hotel highly and I'd book again!
