Beautiful house, great location........ felt like being part of another era. Check-in was simple and just as described. Breakfast another nice inclusion. If travelling with lots of luggage, opt for a ground floor room

We stayed in the Welman Room for the 1st and last day of our visit to Tasmania. Highfield House is conveiently located to downtown and restaurants. It is also only ~10-15min to the airport. This is a historic house that has been converted to a B&B and has lovely touches and is a beautiful place. Welman Room had a private bathroom, which was convenient. There was also free parking on site. We also enjoyed the breakfast - fresh croissants, soft boiled eggs, cheeses, yogurt/cereal, cheeses, etc. Lovely and highly recommend for those interested in staying in a unique accommodation with real local flavor.

I liked the decore, the location and the breakfast. I liked the complimentary water. I didn't like the noisy door latches, as every time I left the room and locked the door, it was very loudly clicking and I worried that it would be disturbing other guests, It was difficult to close it quietly. I liked the friendly and helpful host, Fergus.

BeautIful old house overlooking the city. Tastefully decorated to give a homely atmosphere. A common lounge room with a fireplace was lovely, as was the verandah with views of the immaculate gardens and city. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of food amd options, served by Fergus who took the time to know you by name, ask about your plans and provide ideas if requested.

Having a separate bathroom wasn’t great but it was ok. I get up in the night.

Location was great. Easy walk to Launceston (down a steep hill). Great view from front of building. Fergus was helpful and friendly. Rooms were small but comfortable. Breakfast was not a cooked breakfast, but was still good and plenty of it.

High field house enjoys a commanding view over the city and is located in a pleasant, leafy residential area, just a short walk away from a number of good restaurants and the city centre shops. My room was spacious, light and bright and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the Manager, Fergus was exceptionally charming & hospitable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return to this lovely Victorian villa. Many thanks for a wonderful stay
