Great hotel, Really good location and breakfast was fantastic

I have stayed in some very nice hotels over the years but I have found that you pretty much always get what you pay for. I needed a bed and a shower for a night away for a family matter in Lancaster and didn't want to break the bank for a night out just for me. I paid next to nothing for the room and so expectations have to be based on that. The friendly reception I received on check in was everything that it should be, the room was but basic, comfortable and had everything that I needed in it. I wasn't in Dubai or LA, I was in Morecambe and so it wasn't fancy, it wasn't covered in diamonds and gold.....it was a little tired but in keeping with the rest of Morecambe it was honest and decent and very friendly. Thanks so much for looking after me.

Really good value hotel experience. I had a sea view from my room. I also really appreciated the continental breakfast inclusive of the price. I wasn't expecting it. Not all cheaper hotels are good, but this one is. Simple, great value and a lovely experience.

Hotel was well located and clean, buffet breakfast was adequate, parking free, nice overnight stay.

Nice place, bit dated but ok. Had an issue with heating system filling and flushing which disturbed our sleep so disappointed with that. The continental breakfast was ok. Probably wouldn't stay again

Just directly opposite to the beach with free parking. Basic continental breakfast but does the job to fill up. If you have craving for eggs and the full English fork out an extra 5.50 but the basic is decent. It's a Victorian house with the infrastructure still fit for purpose. Housekeeping is everyday which is fantastic. Any misses and the staff would go over and beyond to help you. A big shout-out to Dere and the reception staff who made our stay enjoyable.

I was pleasantly surprised with my room at the Clarendon, which was brighter and nicer than expected. Everything was nice and clean and I enjoyed the partial sea view. The bed was a little hard for me, but others may appreciate such a firm bed. The young lady on reception was very kind, friendly and helpful. I especially liked the free parking, which is pretty rare in seafront hotels and I noticed when looking out of my window at night that it was very brightly lit, which is very comforting. It was quieter than I expected during the night, which I appreciated. However, inside the room, I could hear people in adjoining rooms taking a shower and also talking, which wasn’t great. Continental breakfast was pretty disappointing and there was no fruit, but it was no big deal. Overall, I would recommend staying here.

The decor is dark and dated, but the location is excellent and the staff are lovely. Very good continental breakfast included. Overall, great value for money.

Room clean and quiet. Staff were very nice and helpful. Will stay there again. It’s a little old style but it’s nice. Bar prices excellent.
