It’s the only hotel (+restaurant) in the area so the owner doesn’t have any incentive to be nice. I arrived around noon, walked 15 minutes from the airport to the hotel. No one was in the lobby. I found the way to the restaurant and asked if I could buy lunch. The staff at the bar said they didn’t know if they could serve lunch. Someone else said something like there was no food today. I only had a light breakfast at 6am & was starving so I asked if they could do a sandwich, cook eggs or give me bread or anything. He said no. Right behind us were pastry leftovers from breakfast... I asked where I could buy lunch : no other restaurant and since it was Saturday the grocery store was also closed. The guy then told me that they was no food anywhere and they might not even be delivered food for dinner… and that I could go back to the airport as they had little food there. So I walked back to the airport. They had microwaved pizza slices, instant noodles and junk food. So I took what I could for lunch and instant noodles for dinner just in case. Went back to the hotel and saw a few guys outside smoking : the owner was there, said he was surprised to see me (there were only 2 flights arriving that day) and checked me in. I asked if they would have food for dinner & he snapped back that for years he’s been here and dinner was always served at 6. He didn’t listen when I tried to explain what happened. Owner is rude and seems to treat his staff poorly. Terrible experience.

Wonderful cozy hotel looking out at the peaks and glaciers of the east Greenland vastness. Rooms have two comfy beds, great showers, a bit of storage. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Food is plentiful and delicious and varied with something for everyone... Vegetarian to carnivore. Lots of good veggies, breads, fish, berries, cheeses, quiche, chicken, and much more. Walik to kulusuk is a short mile and town is beautifully sited with excellent local museum.

Outstanding comfort in a very beautiful setting. Hotel staff works hard and provide a great experience for the guests. The rooms and common areas are cozy and well maintained. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are all superb! Jakob, the hotel manager, went out of his way to put me in touch with several locals and provide any help where needed. I am very pleased with my four-night stay at the hotel!

We loved staying at Hotel Kulusuk. They picked us up from the airport even though we hadn’t explicitly asked for transport. Jacob works very hard to make sure everything runs smoothly, and still took time to talk with us and answer our questions. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is included, and lunch and dinner are available for an additional fee. It’s a set menu each day, and as a pescatarian I had no issues whatsoever. Vegetarians would probably want to let staff know ahead of time because they often had veggie options available but in limited amounts or only at certain meals. The village is about a 20 minute walk away, and it has a grocery store but there isn’t really anywhere else to eat, at least that we could find, so it’s really nice to have meals available at the hotel. We would absolutely stay again.

This is a simple yet welcoming hotel in a remote and beautiful locale. The staff is exceptional and goes above and beyond to help, even in challenging circumstances. We were stranded for a couple days when Icelandair could not fly us out. Everyone simply stepped in to accommodate us and a large group on a tour. The meals are buffet style, and there were options for vegetarians, along with various meats and fish. The views from the dining area, and the second floor rooms, are extraordinary. Jakob, the manager, is simply an outstanding guy: helpful, effective, patient, adaptable. Also memorable were Haldora and Nikolas.

Considering very limited resourses in East Greenland, this hotel offers arrangement of tours and transportation around the island and to and from the airport with great efficiency. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all available and the quality of food was very delicate and fresh. I would never expected fresh French bakery style croissants for breakfast in Kulusuk - a small island in the middle of nowhere. Special thanks to Jacob, who took care of all the arrangements.

Nice locations halfway between town and the airport. The desk staff weren't overly friendly but everyone else we encountered were nice. The buffet meals were very good with good selection. The rooms were cute and clean.

The hotel is right at the airport. It offers a variety of outdoor activities and has suffcient indoor possibilities in case of bad weather. The views are just breathtaking. Jakob is a doer, very hands-on and a great host. If you ever decide to get a whif of Greenland, Kulusuk is an awesome location! Make sure to hike down from the hills and enjoy the views from above!
