Loved our stay. Large room lovely pool.

Lovely clean hotel on the outskirts, but we barely slept at all. The weather turned HOT in late May, and our room was too stuffy. We had AC turned on, then learned (despite hotels.com listing) there WAS NO AC because staff don’t turn it on till summer. AC put only hot air into our room. Wish they’d made that clear at booking bc we would’ve chosen a different hotel. At least tell people checking in when there is no AC. I booked this late in our trip simply because it had AC, and we had been hot at another hotel with no AC. When we opened the doors to the outside, clouds of bugs/spiders/mosquitoes flew in. We tried closing wooden doors, but that held in the heat, then we rigged the sheer curtains to keep bugs out. It was still SO hot in our room that we were unable to sleep. Two nights of misery. Staff later said the other side of the hotel is cooler. Wish they’d told us NO AC! we would’ve asked for a room on that side. Or a refund! Not as advertised. The hotel isa sometimes difficult 15-min drive to old town through very congested residential areas. GPS can be confusing. We thought the hotel was closer to old town when we booked. Nothing is in walking distance from here at all, and security seems to be an issue in this area. Gated in front but the back is open to the forest. The pool is pretty - but far too cold for swimming, in May. They charged us even for lobby coffee, and charge guests for pool towels, too. Maybe ok for a family in summer. Otherwise, not.

A few negative things. There's a charge to use pool towels and you can't use the room towels. The Internet is basically useless.

We had a very nice stay for two nights. The location is perfect, 10 minutes from the busy, touristic city of Carcassonne. It’s a peaceful place to return to after a long day of walking and viewing. One problem was that there is no fan in the bathroom, so a shower steams up the entire room, but you can’t open the window unless you want tons of bugs to fly in. There are no screens on the windows. As a result, our towels and bathing suits never dried and everything got kind of moist. We had a towel dryer in our room that didn’t work. The showers themselves are very nice with high water pressure. It’s the first place we have had to pay for a crib in the room for our baby and the breakfast was very expensive, so we didn’t do it. The pool is very nice, but you have to pay extra for a towel.

La Bastide is perfectly and beautifully located in the fields about 7 min drive to the wall city gates.. The pool and gardens are so restful and our room was so clean with new bath/shower room. The buffet breakfast for 16 euros pp was well worth the price. The man in reception who also is responsible for breakfast offered to make us scrambled eggs to growth local cheese and charcuterie in the buffet. We will return

We had a great stay over 4 nights, every aspect of the Hotel was clean and immaculate, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the cleaner was very efficient, credit to the service provided. Outside by the pool, which was wonderful, just as immaculate. Convenient position for the Cite Medieval, Carcassonne itself and anything else. wonderful stay, thank-you

Loved the entire experience: 1. Small, quaint property. 2. Owners on property. 3. Room comfortable 4. Quiet, peaceful hotel. 5. Staff (owners) went out of their way to assist us with recommending a Covid testing location and assisted us all the way through. The were more than managers, they behaved as lovely with us, as if they were family. I wish all hotels were like this. 6. I would highly recommend.

It was a very calm and beautiful hotel, but its hygiene was awful. During my stay, there were hundreds and thousands of small red spiders in the room. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Les hôteliers sont aimable et sympathique. L’hôtel est magnifique avec un beau et grand jardin très bien entretenu ainsi qu’une belle piscine. Les chambres sont propres, spacieuses et bien décorées. Je vous conseille cet hôtel, vous ne serez pas déçu.
