Loved the full experience, clean room, great breakfast and spa, would recommend

Dave d the hotel manager really took the time to make sure we wad looked after. This hotel was s in a fantastic location and and all the team made us feel welcome and very dog friendly. I had the best relaxing stay

We stayed five nights at this lovely hotel. Our lake view room was large and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Including a small fridge with bottled water replaced each day. Comfortable bed and great linen. Two comfortable chairs and a table in front of the window made it a great place to relax for a while with a cup of tea. The staff were friendly and efficient. Always a welcome when we returned from a day out. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and two in Ruskins and the food was tasty and well prepared. Also had lunch in the conservatory one day, a good sharing ploughman’s. Breakfast was really good, with lots of choice and hot dishes freshly prepared. We didn’t get to use the spa but it looked very good. So convenient for the lake cruises, it was lovely to be able to have a day out without the car exploring the lake and towns. Great setting for visiting the Predator Centre, we had seen about it on the hotel website and booked a walking with wolves experience. Also just down the road from Beatrix Potters house.

Amazing breakfast fresh local produce used and an excellent choice on the extensive buffet prior to the freshly prepared hot breakfast. The treatments in the were fabulous

Excellent hotel

Lovely retreat with our 9 month old and the grandparents. Staff were great and couldn’t do enough to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Food was superb and breakfast also catered for our little one with toast & fruit. Great location for trips and the aquarium over the road. Will be returning soon.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, excellent location and helpful staff. Alex was so helpful at the check in. Food was amazing at the Brasserie. I would say 5*hotel rather. Loved our sty, definitely coming back.

We went as a family with two children and thorough enjoyed our stay. The lake view was so beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. We would highly recommend a stay here for a relaxing time.

Dirty room, not vaccuming unless we ask for it and booked a spa treatment, went for my appointment and was not booked.

Excellent location, staff is lovely. Hotel is very clean in all areas but could do better with room cleaning. We had to remind to clean ours couple of times even after putting the sign on the door. When we came back, it seemed like being done in a rush. Bed was made but pillows were not neatly kept. It was overall good but would have expected better from a 4 star property. Food is another area for improvement. Really slow service and not so great tasting food but priced really high. There are not many options around unless you drive up to Windermere giving you no choice but eat here. Swimming Pool was nice, I personally felt my eyes sting due to Chlorine so couldn’t use for more than once but the size of pool is decent. Gym is also very small but I didn’t use so can’t comment. I didn’t use the spa treatment either but looked good. Overall good experience and will recommend or come again only at cheaper price than what we had to pay for last minute booking this time.

Loved our stay, travelled up on the Friday for a wedding on the Saturday went home Sunday. Would definitely book here again, Classic room was lovely, very modern and clean, loved how it was toastey warm for us in the room, lovely hotel. Breakfast over priced though.

Overall, fantastic hotel bar a couple of issues. Firstly, the room we stayed in was numb er 82, one with 2 bedrooms, one huge and one small. It is the small bedroom where I had a problem with whereby, the window, its main part, has a catch/lock at mid height missing. As a result, the window is only secured at the bottom by another catch. The night we stayed happened to be a very windy, gusty night and every now and then when the wind was strong enough it caused the window to flap, producing loud noises in succession. It kept me awake until 1.30am when I had to get up and open the window partially. This reduced the pressure difference between the inside and outside and the noise stopped enabling me to eventually fall asleep. Please fix this window for your next guesses. Second issue: The dinner we had in the bar area, was very good in terms of food taste and services from staff. However, we felt while the quality is very good, the quantity didn't quite cut it and match the price we paid for, especially the main courses, which contained enough meet, but lacking the starchy sides, in our cases potatoes or chips. Some people like us would want to feel a bit fuller straight after the main course, with perhaps 30% more of starchy sides. Anyway, that's our view.

Lovely hotel room was very comfortable however the spa wasn’t very relaxing as it was full of screaming kids running and jumping in the pool

I had a nice stay till the bill had nearly £299 of service charges on and when my partner paid in cash for a round of drinks they also added it to the room trying to make us pay twice abit of a let down tbh

Highly recommend this hotel lovely friendly staff on-site car park has chargers for electric vehicle vehicles. Fantastic spa and swimming pool food was superb in the two restaurants. It’s right at the south of Lake Windermere so literally you can walk over to the ferry to do a ferry cruise to Ambleside or Bowness on Windermere Winder - it also has an aquarium and a steam train during the summer month. We didn’t bring our dog, but it is a dog friendly Hotel you really enjoyed our stay and already planning on bringing the dog for another trip

Wonderful quiet location. Helpful and friendly staff. Superb room and facilities were faultless.
