The room is a bit cramped. Parking is limited. Access to the lobby is difficult due to the narrow, uphill road. The AC is cool and refreshing, and there's a city view.

The breakfast menu is too simple, the room is also small.

The downside: The room isn't soundproof, especially if you have neighbors constantly ringing the doorbell and chatting in the hallway. Otherwise, everything is fine.

Strategic location, friendly and helpful staff, clean, family-friendly hotel despite being small. The lighting in the room was too dark.

I stayed here for a business trip. The lobby was nice and fragrant. The room was lovely and turned out designed by Andra Matin (you know who!). The only thing is the small parking area, but valet was there so that’s fine.

It's a shame the TV isn't a smart TV, but otherwise I'm very satisfied. There's also a coffee maker in the room from Jump/Start.

Near Simpang Lima and near to go everywhere that you must visit if you are at Semarang. Nice place and nice room and so kindness hospitality from the Crew Artotel Gajahmada Semarang. You must try that hotel if you come to Semarang.

The hotel is nice, clean, the staff are friendly, we didn't try the food because we only booked the room without breakfast, if only there was a swimming pool it would be perfect.

I know it's an artsy-edgy kind of hotel, but they could have done better with the lobby and parking access. Getting to drop luggage off in the basement as your only option whilst still needing to go to a different floor for the lobby and your room isn't something everyone has to endure when all they need is just a good rest—not to mention limited parking space. The room and ambiance are fantastic though!

I will not hesitate to stay here if I go to Semarang again, perfect balance for a trip in Semarang

Centrally located. Close to SP5, just across the street are Bu Wido's Chicken Rice, Swiss Bread, and many other options. The rooms are clean and delicious. The staff are friendly. The cleaning team is HONEST. I handed in my leftover iPod to the receptionist. Kudos.

I recently stayed at ARTOTEL Semarang and had a mixed experience overall. The hotel has a unique artistic concept, and the check-in process on the L floor was smooth, although the drop-off area at the G floor felt quite small and slightly inconvenient upon arrival. During the stay, there were several areas that could be improved. My room package included breakfast that could be replaced with sahur, but it had to be taken at the restaurant. As I was traveling with a baby, it was quite difficult to manage everything early in the morning, and unfortunately my request to have it delivered to the room could not be accommodated. A bit more flexibility for guests with children would be greatly appreciated. The room concept is quite dark, and unfortunately there were mosquitoes in the room which caused my child to get several bites during the night. On the day of departure, I requested a late check-out but it was only granted until 1 PM. At the same time, there was an electrical issue where the room lights went off due to a short circuit, which disrupted our rest before leaving. Another inconvenience occurred during check-out when the G floor drop-off access was closed due to maintenance, and I had to carry several bags to the basement instead. With a baby and luggage, this was quite challenging. Overall, while the hotel has an interesting concept and polite staff, the layout, room readiness, and operational flexibility could be improved. Based on my experience, it may be less suitable for families traveling with toddlers or baby.
