The Rose and Crown is a little inn just above Porthcawl. It’s old, and charming, and the rooms are in need of a little bit of updating—-new carpet would go a long way! But the beds were very comfortable, it met our needs, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We had a light dinner there, and it was delicious.

Bed was really comfortable - I slept really well. All the staff were lovely and helpful.

Parking outside of the pub, limited spaces. Room and bathroom were a little dated. However very comfortable. Only complaint would be was I could hear people in the bar through the floor. Not enough to cause issues…more like someone talking loudly in the room next door noise.

Lovely location and comfortable room. Get in quick for evening meal bookings as Saturday evening was very busy.

Very comfortable clean room, and a lovely shower. The pub downstairs is very atmospheric and the food was very nice.

Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. The meal was delicious and only a short walk to the seafront to enjoy a beautiful sunset afterwards. I would have given a higher score except for the very early wake up call (pre 6am) of bar staff throwing empty barrels around for over an hour at rear of property.

The whole stay was fantastic. The room was simple but accomodating. The food and environment warm and comfortable. Stand out staff were Alfie and Emma...just a really really great stay-highly recommend

The property was clean and tidy, staff friendly and polite, room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was flavourful and hot.

Perfect for what we needed. Very friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable and clean rooms. The room could do with a few pictures on the wall. We didn’t eat there, but the food we saw looked delicious.

Wow wow wow amazing place , totally loved it , wished we had 3 nights instead of 2 , granddaughter loved the Mac and cheese , staff are all so pleasant nothing is to much trouble , we will be back

Lovely family friendly pub and hotel

The cost of the room was not reflected in the facilities and although it is obviously old it could have been more up to date with the furniture and bathroom. Dining there as an extra and with breakfast also extra was not as good as I had been led to believe by people I know. I have paid less for better.

Nice old fashioned pub with good food.

The room is not suitable for occupancy. Wallpaper coming off walls, ceiling damp, carpet tired, bathroom needs a refit. Awful nights sleep as there was a leak above room 1 which tripped the fire alarm system which was active until 3am. Dinner and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly but no refund offered which was surprising giving the circumstances

The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishing
