We came down for the World Cup and Umbral was a perfect location to get to Fan Fest. The room was terrific and the whole hotel space is gorgeous. I can’t say enough great things about the staff. In particular, Sergio the bartender at the Terrace bar. He was terrific and gave us some great advice about attending Fan Fest for the Mexico l-Czechia game. Will stay at Umbral on our next visit!

Can’t ask for more when the staff is nice and the property is well maintained.

The rooms were very clean. The breakfast waiting staff would benefit from more training. We only liked Alejandra one of the breakfast waiters. We had 3 rooms and 2 of them had windows facing the internal corridor and the other, some small shaft<-this might be problem for people who like to open their windows for fresh air or wake up by the sun. The body soap was so diluted, 2 of us used up the whole 0.5 L bottle in less than a week. The front desk people as nice.

Our stay at the Umbral was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit. The amenities were top-tier, and the restaurant attached to the hotel was outstanding and very convenient. The only minor criticism would be the scent used in the main lobby. It was a pleasant fragrance, but a bit overpowering at times. That said, it certainly wasn’t enough to affect our overall experience or rating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

First time coming to Mexico City and the hotel was amazing ! From the staff to the hotel ambience it was a beautiful stay . Rooftop pool and bar was easily accessible with great view of the city . Sergio was amazing ( ask for the carajillo ) it’s my favorite drink he makes . Will definitely be coming back to this hotel for my next stay . Mexico City has my heart now forever .

-This hotel is beautiful, very artsy and modern, located in the Zocalo area. The suites are big and very roomy! -They have complimentary Tequila tasting, snacks, water and soda in the evening at the lobby. -The staff are friendly and accommodating and speaks English very well. -Everything is about a 5 Minute Walk from the Hotel. Shops, restaurants, Basilica. Theres a restaurant on site, a coffee/donut shop next door and a few more eateries that are only a few steps away. -Very accessible to Uber and Taxi. Other nearby tourist spot is about 20 minute travel/uber. -Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place to stay in CDMX.

My son and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Umbral in the Historic Center of CDMX. The property was well situated, right in the heart of the Historic Center, just blocks from the Cathedral so very convenient. Our room was spacious and very clean. The rooftop restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The entire staff at the Umbral was so helpful and friendly - they made us feel incredibly welcome and they were very accommodating with any questions or requests we had.

Room was clean, pool area was clean. Location is close to everything. The hot tub was not warm enough. Overall everything was great!

When I arrived I was stared at by a staff member behind the check-in counter who literally waved me off and refused to check me in despite doing nothing but staring hostility at me while I waited for someone else to help me; there was a loud party going on on my check-in day that could be heard throughout the entire hotel and ruined my first day; i was finally put in a room but it had a broken fridge, toilet, and shower; they said they provide daily housekeeping however I had to ask multiple times for this service; they also said they had a front desk 24/7 and during an emergency at night with the toilet that was clogged no one answered for nearly an hour and I also had to risk my safety to go down to the front desk where there was no one. No one answered on their whatsapp messaging for nearly an hour. I had to leave and request a refund for the unused days which they also hassled me about. Please remove this property from your website. It's disgusting.

Great stay and super friendly staff. This is a very welcoming space for queer people. The breakfast was probably the highlight as there was a lot of options and fresh food. The fruit and juice was great and we tried almost all of the items on the menu. We got the handicap room and it was spacious. There was one time a bug from likely the drain but we captured it and the cleaners took care of it. There also was a lot of mosquitoes randomly but i’m not sure if that was just for our room. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable. We will be back the next time we come!

The hotel is amazing, excellent location within colonial. Staff was courteous. The only thing is our room ac was not working and they provided us with an electric fan which is fine. Will definitely come back

The Hotel rooms are nice, so is the ambience and it is very well located. We were disappointed with the responsiveness of their staff when water stopped in our room - the faucet was broken, which we complained about in the morning, late at night after we returned we discovered the water had been turned off, and they had not bothered informing us, and the bathroom was in ugly shape we could not even use it. After I complained they assigned us another complimentary room. We traveled locally for the next two days, when returning I called to check and they still had not taken care of it and told me over the phone they will assign us another room, they didn’t even bother letting us know proactively!! After we reached hotel late at night and tried to get the key to the new room we were informed that they took care of the water situation after I called. We didn’t have any other complaints but this experience was a shock and very disappointing service from a Curio collection hotel.
