Fabulous hotel! Lovely enormous rooms, great staff, and great food in the restaurant. The breakfasts up on the roof were fabulous. Great start to every day.

clean property, great service and the food was okay. However, as it is on the Main Street, it is too noisy at night and not suitable to walk around at night. Not ideal with family trip, but okay for quick overnight business trip type stays. Parking is all valet it seems. Although advertised as free self parking, the parking lot is on the other side of the street and with limited area to drop off luggage and valet is essential, not quite ideal hotel for family trip or stay

A hidden gem — design, location, and breakfast are unforgettable. I honestly hit the jackpot with this hotel. While it doesn’t have the flashy exterior of some luxury properties, the interior design is incredible — every corner feels like a curated gallery, with art and treasures everywhere you look. The location is perfect; I felt right in the middle of the souk and the heart of Manama, which made exploring lively and easy. The rooms were exceptional for the price — on average, I paid around $300, while most other hotels in Bahrain were closer to $800. The breakfast alone is worth the stay, and I would happily return just for that. It’s the kind of hotel where you genuinely feel like you’re getting more than expected. There were a few downsides, however. Reception didn’t provide any upgrades or welcome gestures, and my request for a high floor wasn’t fulfilled. The one serious issue was with transport: the hotel organized a car for me, and I ended up being massively overcharged — far more than what I should have paid. It seemed a portion of the extra went to the hotel itself, which was disappointing and something to be cautious about. Overall, The Merchant House is a stunning boutique hotel that combines style, comfort, and a fantastic location. Just be mindful of any extras organized through reception.

Really love the vibe of this hotel. Refreshing design and interior amongst the standard colorless hotels that are dominating todays world. I especially liked the little library zones, the rooftop bar and restraurant, and the art all around the hotel. The windows in my room didnt have any view to outside or any sun coming in, but it didnt bother me too much as the room was very big.

A beautiful pearl in a sea of cookie-cutter box hotels. The hotel is filled with wonderful modern art works coupled with black/white photography of old Bahrain. A slight disappointment is that the fabulously insta rooftop restaurant doesn't offer any flavours of Arabia. The access to the pool with just 2 loungers is a little strange. Someone was already sunbathing when I visited and as I didn't feel comfortable having to lie next to them on the only other available bed in such a small space - I left.
