It took a while to decide on where to stay on my first visit to Antigua, but I am so glad my search landed me at Copper & Lumber. The hotel is truly one of the most unique stays I’ve had. The grounds are beautiful, the room (studio) was super spacious, and had everything we needed. The AC worked, though it didn’t extend into the bathroom, which admittedly is small and not for anyone claustrophobic. Otherwise, I felt like I was in a movie staying there, such nice details and everything is picture-worthy. The staff were amazing! They gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and eat at. Within an hour of arrival, I had mangoes delivered to the room, followed by a whole bag the next morning. That was the best! They were always up for conversation, which I appreciated. The location of the hotel is ideal also, there are lots of restaurants within a 10-minute walk. Shirley’s heights is about a 15-min taxi ride away and is a must-do experience for the weekly parties/bbq. Pigeon’s beach is about a 20-minute walk away. The minibus also runs on the Main Street to take you into St. John’s. Would definitely stay at this hotel again! Still daydreaming about it….

The Hotel is within the National Park and is authentic and historic in the amazing Nelson Dockyard surroundings. Room and amenities are in keeping with the theme of of the National Park. Plenty of places to visit, wonderful beaches, eat and drink all within English Harbour. Don't hesitate to book and have an amazing experience in this authentic historical place.

The people of Antigua are the kindest, most cheerful I’ve ever experienced. Staying at the historic Copper and Lumber Inn has been an outsize pleasure because of the lovely staff and gorgeous property.

When we arrived at the Copper and Lumber store they had double booked our room for 2 or the 5 nights. When we explained we hadn't heard from neither them or expedia and in fact had a check in reminder they offered nothing advising we had to find alternate accommodation. We spent over 5+ hours going between the hotel and expedia as neither party wanted to take ownership/payment of any new accomodation options for us even though they had the $2500 from my existing reservation. This hotel does not care and if you are traveling alone please be warned you could be on an island alone without accommodation so please have a back up plan. Also good to note their fish fry Friday they speak of on the website is subpar and served cold! By far one of the worst travel experiences I have had.

Overall it was a good stay. The staff was really friendly. Breakfast every morning was pleasant. The location was fabulous. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat. Close proximity to bars and restaurants. We went to Pillars for dinner. Very good too. We loved the hiking trail as well. For a short stay, this is such a good option. No elevator, so stairs are your option. We didn’t think it was a big deal, but something to be aware of regards to expectations. Definitely 4.5 stars for the 2 days we stayed. Front seat people were so helpful.

Room was immaculate and all staff were so helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and represented their historic origin. Bed big and comfortable and room was well quipped. Hot water in shower could be slow in coming, clearly because of the ‘heritage’ plumbing but was fine once one knew how it all worked. Wood and varnish and beautiful brickwork everywhere. Great views from room over harbour and enjoyed being within a world heritage site. Only suggestion would be to have a few more comfortable places to sit in and around the hotel rather than the room, especially round the inner courtyard.

Incredible building and setting, steeped with history. Room was lovely and over two floors. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My only feedback would be about breakfast. The breakfast included in the overnight stay is meagre (continental) and the additional items (at cost) aren’t in the same league as the hotel and surroundings. That said, would definitely stay again.
