The hotel and all the facilities are top-notch! The service is impeccable and everyone will make sure that you are serviced to the best of their ability. The pool is cleaned often and the view is spectacular. I can highly recommend Paraa Safari Lodge

Stayed here 9 times over the last 10 years and it is always a great experience. Food is good for Uganda but could be improved on. Safari on land and water are fantastic.

Great hotel! Views are breathtaking, Amazing staff except the reception staff that was borderline rude. The food is good and very clean (ate raw vegetables without any fear). Spa is below expectations. Masseuse is sad to be here.

Wonderful staff. Always a smile and polite. Well run resort. One thing, I think the lodge should check- there Nile river boats. Ours stopped working by the hippo pool. Motor koncked out. For 35 minutes we paddled to keep away from a 100 hippos. The skipper pulled out one paddle that was only a 1/2 piece. To go out with one paddle and that one being a broken half is not acceptable. Also took at least 30 minutes for another boat to come to rescue. We were 10 minutes floating from lodge. Was a tremendous scare to my wife.

Paraa was great! Needs a little updating, but the staff and service were great. We had a small misunderstanding when 1 room was to occupy 3 people, not 2. But overall, things worked out well and the management corrected and compensated us for the problem.

Overall the main reason for staying at this lodge was the game drives. As this property is located on the north side of the Nile there is no need to wait for the car ferry crossin, this gave us an advantage of being the first ones in the park for the safari. Although the location is great there were a few areas of concern. Our bedsheets has a stain before we had even slept in it. Although quickly rectified by house keeping it made for a very uncomfortable stay. The rooms are very outdated, an awful smell in the bathroom. The showers are tiny and the shower curtains looked like they were about 30 years old. Some of the paint was peeling on the walls. The food is bad, it’s a buffet at all times of the day and looks very repetitive and not appetising at all. At the evening bbq we had one of the waiters kiss his teeth at us because we had no idea which waiter had served us our drinks, highly unprofessional. They clearly need a better process of remembering the drinks given to their customers. The literature in the bedroom is full of spelling mistakes, it doesn’t take a few minutes for someone to proof read. This just made the lodge feel very ammature. Overall good location is the only positive I can give. The lodge is in need of an upgrade, it doesn’t appear to be aging well. For the price they charge I would expect a few amendments to be made. It feels very 2-3 star at max.

The hotel is very old and not well maintained. Some things are even broken and can easily hurt people. The food was also bad, half of each meal were onions. Not at all what you would expwct for this price.

It is difficult to run a modern facility in the middle of the jungle, but they do it every day at Paraa Lodge.

We stayed 4 nights, but 3 would have been enough. The 3 hour boat trip up the Victoria Nile to Murchison falls was the highlight. We did it 2 days in a row. It's like a river safari on the to and fro to the falls. We did 2 hour bush walk with ranger - it was okay. Didn't see much birdlife as we did from the boat ride. The resort offers great views of the Nile from its' perch on the north shore hill. Resort a bit tired looking. Rooms are clean. Plenty of hot water. Gift shop has unique items. Good wifi in common area. Big swimming pool although we didn't use. Buffet meals offer broad assortment of average-tasting food. Staff are friendly. Paraa arranged private transport for $700 USD to and from Kampala. Interesting drive through villages and countryside on the way (about 5 hours drive one-way). The flat bed ferry takes 5 minutes to traverse the river. It holds.about 8 vehicles. Value for money for the Paraa Lodge - it was satisfactory.

The Paara Safari Ladge is great choice when visiting Murcheson Falls National Park...easily one of the best in this remote area. But be careful when you book your room to make sure that it has air conditioning if that is important to you. (It's very hot at Paara). Even though I had a copy of my booking with Hotels.com that clearly stated that I hadn't paid for an air conditioned room, it required 30 minutes of arguing and a call to hotels.com before they would give me the room I had paid for. They tried to charge me $70 extra per night which I refused to pay. Once in my room however, he Hotel was delightful. A beautiful swimming pool, a comfortable room with balcony that overlooked the game park and river, a modern bathroom with plenty of hot water, a second floor dining room with outdoor seating, nice handicraft shop, and stylish surroundings made for a memorable stay. Once past my initial problem, staff were friendly and helpful.

Location is perfect, near game drive spots, ferries. However facility was a bit old and food was too oily for me.
