It was clean and quiet. Close to shopping areas nearby. Buffet dinner and breakfast was available. Onsen was clean and nice.

Overall it is really an excellent hotel. Many of the rooms should be updated, but still they are adequate and spacious. The breakfast area can be busy, but there is a large adjacent room with plenty of space. The hotel staff were great. The onsen has a spacious indoor bath and plenty of washing areas. The outdoor bath is very pleasant, just be careful walking on the stone surfaces. The staff takes good care of the onsen and sauna. The location is good. You can walk to Nagahama JR station and the old town area is just beyond. The lake and the large beautiful next door park and castle is good for walking. There are not many restaurants open at night in central Nagahama, but you can probably find something.

My room was super old with insects. Fortunately, the staff move me to another room that is newer. Overall facilities abd food are great.

Common areas looked refreshed, but room were old.

The 5 stars is based on the Expedia value and I arrived after dark. With current exchange I paid $46usd for a standard double room. The property has blemishes but it was a tremendous value (even before exchange). My experience was one night and I didn't soak in the public bath. But the residents appeared to enjoy it. I would definitely look at this property again if I'm in Nagahama.

First I want to say so the staff were great and friendly. However the property is such in the 80's and not in a good retro way. From washroom, bedding and carpets, everything looks original to when this place was built. The only areas that looks upgraded is the lobby area, which is what u see in the pictures. But much to do in surrounding area and a kid of restaurants closed by 8pm. For an advertised "resort", they need to do a lot better. Keep driving to next town and stay somewhere else.

Location is fantastic. Right on the lake, very close to Nagahama Castle, the train station and the main Nagahama quarter.

I think the old rooms are unacceptable..condition is very bad. There is no reason why they should allow people to stay in these rooms

This property is on the banks of Lake Biwa and it’s very easy to walk to Nagahama shopping street

I like the hotel has hot springs which opens early morning. also, the hotel is close to the small gallery and shopping area.

The property is located near the lake, offering splendid view. The staff has difficulty communication in English. The dining option is lacking, with very few tables available for so many guests.

Awfully expensive for what you get. The hotel is centrally located to the sights in Nagahama / the IC / the lake .... but the overall price for the hotel / experience was too expensive.

The view from the room was magnificent, the staff was nice. Less than ten minutes walking from Nagahama station and also close to the Nagahama pier (where you may take the tourism steam boat to Chikubu island).

Bathroom had bad ventilation and low ceiling. Felt not terribly cleaned, butbwas overall ok

THIS HOTEL WAS ABIT PRICEY BUT WE HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY. THEY HAD ENGLISH SPEAKING FRONT DESK STAFF WHO WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT. WE TOOK A ROOM FACING THE LAKE WHICH WAS SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE. THERE WAS NOT MUCH ACTIVITY AROUND THE HOTEL AND ABIT OF DRIVING INVOLVED TO SEE THE AREA BUT IT'S IDEAL FOR CHILLING OUT AND A WALK ALONG THE LAKESHORE IN THE MORNINGS WAS VERY PLEASANT, EVEN IN SUMMER. STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE HOTEL TO STAY IN WHEN VISITING THE NORTHERN PART OF LAKE BIWA !
