We had the most amazing time here, from the minute we landed at the airport everything was perfect. Daniel and his family are wonderful people and organised everything we needed, transport from/to airport, tours and food. The location is truly authentic in a village and you could see the volcanos glow from our room.

Stunning volcano views. Lovely people and such a unique opportunity to spend some time visiting the local village and its people. Treasured memories.

The property wasn’t what I expected. Transfers from the airport are not included and cost an additional 7500 VTU required to be paid in cash to the driver. Upon arrival my family and I were put into a bungalow, which was a single room grass hut with three beds (2 single and 1 king/queen) with mozzie nets, no power, no hot water and definitely no wifi as advertised. This was not the Treehouse room I requested and booked but there was no explanation as to why it was different. I later discovered that the Treehouse and other bungalows had fallen into complete disrepair and the bungalows we were given was the only one habitable. The dinner was prepared by the host’s wife in the nearby village because the onsite kitchen was not set up and was basic but tasty local food of rice with a small amount of beef and local vegetables. There was no restaurant as such as advertised as there was no choice. The dinner was an additional $5000 VTU for a family of five paid in cash. We were situated at the top of the hill overlooking the volcano, which was stunning! Our location was a few hundred meters from the village and with nobody else around (except the local pigs that spent some time around and under our bungalow) the position was very isolating and apart from look at the volcano, there wasn’t really anything to do. We were invited to visit the village but we didn’t feel comfortable so declined. We were booked for two nights but chose to only stay one and found alternate accommodation.

Daniel's Bungalows are in an amazing place with great access to the volcano and surprisingly decent food. The best part, though, is that you are living in a small village and get to be a part of their unique way of life. Those aspects made the experience a great one for me, but be warned that the amenities are very minimal, especially in Sept '22 when the post-covid recovery had a long way to go. Our rooms had no electricity, one had no sink, one shower was just a hose without a head, etc... I think Daniel will be making improvements soon but currently they're missing many modern comforts.

Daniel and his family made us feel very welcome and I highly recommend anyone considering staying here. The view of Yasur from the top treehouse is wonderful.

Tanna Island is incredible, but the most incredible thing is to go to sleep in a tree house looking at a volcano burning in lava in front of you. I could see every night of my house on the tree that red smoke coming out of the mouth of the volcano. Impressive! The bungalows are great, the place is a paradise and the staff make you feel like part of their family. The bungalow is located 45 min walk from the volcano, 1 hour from a beautiful waterfall and 1,5h of white beach. The bungalow offers the most traditional local food, full of delicious and exotic meals. Breakfast is always served with delicious fruits. The bungalow staff are incredible and friendly people. But really, the view from the tree house to the volcano will outweigh any perspective. Recommend

Once in a lifetime experience - a treehouse overlooking a volcano! It is very sturdy - I survived a pretty massive storm with only very slight movement. Definitely for the adventurous type - facilities are very basic. No wifi (which will be obvious once you get there but I think the ad says there is?) Make an effort with the locals. Learn their language and ask lots of questions! Quite the adventure to get to and from the village!

Other reviews describe the experience well - one of the most fantastic and adventurous trips we've had. One thing to be weary of though: transport is quite expensive (2,500vt per person to cross the island, 1000vt per person for short trips), as is access to the volcano (7,500vt per person for your first visit). Research prices beforehand and ensure you bring enough cash, as there is no way to get more once you're there - we wasted a lot of money just trying to get more money. It's also advisable to go to the volcano more than once, as the activity can vary - we went three nights in a row and it was AMAZING.

Seems like the place used to be in a better shape before the cyclone. It has amazing view of volcano from the tree house and sunrise in the morning is breathtaking. The owner is very friendly and serve a good foods. The accommodation is pretty basic with no electricity and running water. There is one toilet on the ground with a bucket of water to flush. You will to take 42 steps everytime you need to go to the toilet and it's a bit challenging at night. There is a river 15 minutes away from the accommodation where you can refresh yourself from the volcanic dust that keeps coming with the wind. It's a unique experience to stay in a tree house.
