Apartments a big, well equipped and have everything you need. The location is nicely away from the town to be relaxing but not too far. Lots of nice things around there to do/eat/coffee.

The caretakers were superb. The staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful permanent residents. Great location and the the best is when all the guests getting together at dusk to feed the fish. We will love to go back

Vanuatu is just opening up for business, all the staff keen to make our stay comfortable especially helping out with transport. Its not really easy walking distance to much. The 2 bedroom bungalow was super spacious and comfy, bit worn out but good beachy, salt sprayed, wind blown vibe. Snorkeling off the jetty very good but water can get rough.

Vanuatu is a poor country and sure, these bungalows are luxury, be it a bit run down. However, hospitality does not cost anything, and the way this place is run is unwelcoming and cheap. It has a negative and cold atmosphere. It did not spark joy.

Very mixed feelings about this 'Resort'... Upon arrival, it was not what I expected based on photographs and the description on Expedia. Photos were very misleading and cleverly done to hide the fact that the resort is not on an accessible beachfront, the only way into the water is down a ladder off a jetty - as the waterfront is untraversable rocks. You have to walk 25-30 minutes up the road to get to an accessible/sand beach area. The swimming pool is very small compared to the size it appears to be in the photographs. We were not aware that the only dining option is the one small restaurant on the resort. The next closest restaurant is 30 min walk away. However, the evening meals we had there were always very nice and of good quality. The same can not be said for the 'complimentary' breakfast. It was nice to be away from Port Vila - by the water. It is quiet and peaceful. The downside of this placement means you have to arrange a bus or taxi every time you want to go on a trip or leave the resort. Management will do this for you, but it obviously costs every time - and we didn't find it cheap. The bungalow was spacious and well equipped if you wanted to cook for yourself - but a trip to get food meant a bus or taxi ride. Based on the facilities on this property I think the word 'resort' is a bit misleading. it is a collection of 16 or so bungalows, in pleasant gardens with one small restaurant and a small swimming pool.

Comfortable and spacious self catering 2 bedroom bungalow on the water. All staff friendly and as it is a small resort everyone gets to know each other (staff and guests) Good snorkelling right out the front and great restaurant on site. No sandy beach if that’s what you want, but didn’t bother us. 400vt pp each way to town from resort

Great spot to stay. Quiet area, great landing by the water where we had 5 o’clock drinks with other residents a few times. Well managed with plenty of help, quality meals at the restaurant, incredibly comfortable villas with large rooms, kitchen and balcony. Very friendly environment. 20 mins out of Port Vila. Thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day stay. Easy Bbus access from the villas to anywhere

Some of the facilities were a little tired, but all were scrupulously clean, and worked. The constant breeze kept temperatures balmy, but sometimes whipped up the sea to make snorkeling difficult.Once in the water there was never any current so it was very safe unless too close to the top of the reef. Feeding the many large fish was a delight for some of the guests. The staff were very friendly, and Gerry and hubby made sure every wish was made possible. Highly recommended. Transport was easy if a little expensive, although that is normal in Vanuatu.

Excellent small resort away from Port Vila in shaded tropical setting with a healthy coral seascape at the bottom of the garden. Excellent restaurant run by the wonderful resort manager Gerry who ensures the stay is magical. We will return.

Island Magic was a brilliant - highly recommend it for a family holiday. Our 2 bedroom beachfront bungalow was extremely spacious and had everything we needed. The deck on the beachfront bungalow had the most beautiful views - so easy to sit back, relax and enjoy! The gardens were lovely and made sure all the bungalows were private. The location of the resort was great - Mele is out of the hustle of Vila and close enough to travel in if supplies needed. Our continental breakfast each day was very generous - lovely fresh local fruits, cereal, yoghurt, toast. The onsite restaurant was very nice quality food. Our kids loved the volleyball court. The snorkelling off the jetty was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately it is a bit exposed, so it isn't great if it is too windy, but when conditions are right, we don't think you could find a better spot. The coral is fantastic as were the huge variety and number of fish. It was paradise underwater - we have snorkelled the Great Barrier Reef a few times, but right off the jetty at Island Magic wins hands down! The hotel manager, Gerry and her staff, were very helpful and made sure our stay was a very lovely family experience. Tina at breakfast was very thoughtful and polite and Joe, who kept the gardens looking beautiful, was great fun and helpful. We can't rate this place high enough - we don't usually return to the same place for holidays, but may have to rethink that approach after visiting Island Magic.

Island magic resort is in a great location, close to lots of attractions but is very quiet and peaceful. The bungalows are spacious, private and well maintained. We enjoyed exploring the reef out the front of the property - lots of beautiful fish and healthy coral. Often, it was just our family exploring the reef. Gerry and her staff were very accommodating and arranged many activities for our family making the holiday super easy and stress free. Island magic resort is excellent value for money - it deserves the excellent reviews it consistently achieves.

Really enjoyed our week here, definitely the best resort on the island. Comfortable while authentic and unpretentious. Super friendly, helpful staff. Loved snorkeling off the jetty and feeding the fish, wish we could have stayed longer.
