Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms cluttered with too much memorabilia. Towels had strong musty, unpleasant smell. The room with balcony over looking the water was lovely. Sit back and enjoy the sunset drum/dance circle. Continently located and popular in the evening.

We got #7, a huge suite! Comfortable bed, hot water, all very nice. Only downside is the bar playing music until midnight, but they did warn us via message in advance and the music was turned off right at midnight. Double windows would be a huge help with that. Otherwise, super friendly staff, great breakfasts, and right on the beach.

Loved the location and closeness to the beach and shopping. Lots of restaurants to choose from but most of the time defaulted to the Oceans Cafe for the service, the entertainment, the food and the awesome staff

This was a great hotel for us. Very good location (less than a minute from the beach but at a fraction of the cost of one of the resorts) and in the heart of Santa Maria. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The best thing about the hotel though was the staff. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. In the evenings when the restaurant and bar become a live entertainment venue they are engaging and entertaining with all of their guests, be they younger or older. They are a real credit to the hotel.

Everything about the stay was perfect except I wasn't aware of the fact that the hotel was not staffed 24 hours and no one answered the helpline. With this said, if you need a taxi for an early morning flight and you do not book in advance you will be in big trouble. Had I known this in advance, the end of my stay would have been less stressful.The hotel is lively and there is a bar underneath but for me this was perfect because I felt the party came to me. Actually it's more accurate to call this hotel more like a serviced apartment as the front desk is closed along with access to the lobby/gift shop at night thru the early morning.

Each room was individually decorated in a music theme with local artistry. It was very cleverly done. The cafe and restaurant were excellent and again very cleverly done. Above all the staff could not have been any more pleasant and accommodating. Loved The Ocean Cafe!

Amazing hotel. Great room in an original design. Very friendly and helpful staf. Excellent breakfast. Don't go to bed before 12 pm, but enjoy the music and dance in the café.

Everyone is different, first thing first, if you are a light sleeper and would like to have your peace and quiet to sleep early, then this place might not be for you, as the live music goes til late and the bar downstairs is a very popular place in town. As a solo traveler, this place is great as it is right in the center of town and few steps away from the beach, choices of restaurants and services are plentiful. I like the friendliness of the bar and suite managers as well as their employees, always nice, kind and smiling. The room has rustic and modern twist to it and very spacious (I would say so as for a couple of people in the same room). Personally I like their attentions and care they showed to their guests, even the need of late check-in/out due to the flight schedules, they always tried to accommodate and help.

Great place! Not fancy, but with a touch of art (at least my room). Spacious room, the design concept is quite unique and well done, comfortable bed, shower, etc If they fix the AC (works, but it is installed inside the closet - so, does not work sooo well) and train the staff to provide more local info, this place would be perfect.

Wonderful staff who were friendly and welcoming! A brilliant location and bar beneath. Breakfast was tasty! The beds weren’t too comfortable. The bathroom could do with more hooks to hang clothes. The TV reception wasn’t great to watch the World Cup games, lucky we didn’t need to stay in much. The Santa Maria beach was just behind the apartment. Really loved visiting Cape Verde. The dancing and music at Ocean Cafe was fabulous to watch, many tourists love to attend here. Pleased with the location and service above all. Great drinks menu! Appreciated the free drink for each guest for staying at the apartment.

Modern apartment in central position. Lovely Lady Janet met us and showed us our room . Tito Paris room we stayed in which is at the front and has a balcony,very noisy at nights as its a music bar so if you want peace and quiet its not for you .

+ The room was beautiful + Very close to the beach and the center + The staff were friendly + Free wifi - They told us free bottled water but it was only for one day!!! no replacement! - If you want to sleep around 9 or 10, you can't, because the music is veryyy loud from the cafe till 12 am

Great place to stay. The room was amazing and very spacious and clean. The bathroom was super too. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Will hopefully be back to stay again.

If you want “privacy” this is the perfect place! Come and go as you please, very secure. Great accommodations, perfect location, accessible to everything, walking distance to the beach. Perfect for couples and groups of friends (would not recommended it for family with children). The Bar/Lounge downstairs seems to be the hot spot in town, every night! Live music, people from all over the world. And the decoration gets a thumbs up as well. We stayed in the Ildo Lobo suite, spacious and great view (not ocean view). Highly recommended.

We stayed in their hotel, while the room was large and nice, it is just above the music bar so you wont get any sleep until around 2 in the morning and around 5 there is a construction site that appart from sunday will start up so you have 3 hours of possible silence. The aircon couldnt get the room very cold, and the service was bad continuously. The first girl Jeannette was lovely but this was quickly counteracted by her colleagues. When we bought an aloe vera get in the souvenier shop also run by the company we immediately went upstairs to our room and we found it was gone off and smelled. It was also semi liquid. On trying to return it and seeing it went out of date in february, the staff refused to take it back claiming it was fine though they recoiled at the smell. We had to give out and refuse to leave before we got our money back. They also were smirking and unhelpful. Added to the noise and gel incident they left our bags which they agreed to mind in an open bar by the door. Luckily we had no valuables in them.

We stayed at the ocean suites for about 2 days whilst we were in Sal (we traveled to other islands in Cape Verde) and I must say the rooms are just fantastic! The hotel staff are quite nice, and it does have a bar where you can get food in the morning and evening.

It has all that you need for a good holiday: close to the beach, polite staff and not far from all restaurants and cafes. In case you don't want to go somewhere there is a bar at the ground floor. Nice music, tasty pizza and a lots of coctails)
