Nice hotel within a walking distance to the beach and also many small shops to get items that you need before traveling onward in Tanzania

Safe property Good amenities Issues getting extra key fobs were difficult. Only had one for each room and needed to use them to get into hotel

Enjoyed this property- the room was spacious and air conditioned with a little balcony that overlooked the pool and water. The bed was comfortable and the shower had excellent hot water. Restaurants and shopping right at hotel.

Love staying at Slipway hotel though it’s quite old but the location is perfect and the staff just the nicest. But please do try to clean the pool early 😅

Only one chair in room.

This was my second time at this facility. A mid-week stay was mostly quiet and the staff is great. But the rooms are getting a little dated and 2 1/2 days of no wifi was a big challenge. If my home plan did not have unlited data, I would have had a very difficult time traveling.

This hotel in a colonial style typical of East Africa was just a gem. We were given a nice room, large enough and with all we could wish for. The staff as all Tanzanians were just the friendliest and most helpful, going out of their way to make our stay a delay. We felt cared for and appreciated. When we go back to Tanzania we will go back to Slipway. The area of the hotel offered everything the heart would enjoy on a vacation: Nice walks, good restaurants, little gift shops, clothing shops, cafes etc. Assante.

I really enjoyed my stay. I booked it specifically for its location (Sunset, restaurants/bars by the ocean) and I was not disappointed. It's true there is music outside at night but with the AC on, I couldn't hear anything so it's not very high. Breakfast was OK. People were welcoming and accommodating. Overall, I recommend this hotel!

Second time here, a great hotel though the service around the pool has dropped and the wait for food has increased.

I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times and it’s usually reliable. This time however it was not and I had to move rooms several times due to various maintenance issues. Despite a recent renovation one of the buildings needs another round of repairs. The staff were helpful when I brought the issues to their attention but there doesn’t seem to be any senior management presence. The breakfast also badly needs an update. All rooms should have mosquito nets too.
