After spending over 30 hours researching camps in Kenya, choosing Masa Major Camp was one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. It didn’t just live up to the glowing reviews—it far exceeded them. From the moment I arrived, the experience felt more like joining a warm, welcoming family than simply staying at a lodge. The staff were incredible—attentive, genuinely kind, and made me feel at home every single day. The game drives were absolutely unforgettable. Our guide seemed to know exactly where to be at the right time, and we saw breathtaking wildlife moments I’ll never forget. Having breakfasts and lunches out in the bush—surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife—made the experience even more magical. And the food back at camp? Outstanding. Easily on par with (or better than) any five-star restaurant I’ve been to. Every meal felt special, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience that you’ll never want to leave, I cannot recommend Masa Major Camp enough. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve gone.

Mara Major Camp is the perfect place to stay for an authentic Kenyan safari experience. The lodge staff are local Maasai that truly make the place special. We were the only guests at the camp because we stayed at the beginning of the rainy/off season and they were so attentive to us, taking care of all our needs. The food is great and the chef works hard to present you wonderful meals. He also catered to our weird food needs. One of the Maasai took us on game drives around Maasai Mara Reserve and did a fantastic job driving and getting us close to the animals. He took us to see Lion cubs, cheetah cubs, and even a leopard cub! We also watched a Lion hunt and kill! Spectacular experience! The complaint I have has nothing to do with the camp, the stay, or the camp staff, but rather the false information advertised on Expedia. I don’t know if this is Expedia’s fault or the owners that run the camp off site. First, the camp is advertised as “all inclusive.” This is not true. You only get the lodging and meals, but you’re hit with ridiculous extra fees for anything else: transportation, game drives, other activities, anything to drink besides water, etc. So I warn when booking, this high price you’re paying for your stay doesn’t cover much. Second, the advertisement claims you will have free transportation from the nearest airstrips to the camp and back again. This is also not true and we were hit with another unexpected charge to get to the airstrip after our stay. Be warned.

This was our first trip to Masai Mara and it was unforgettable! We stumbled across Il Muran and it did not disappoint! The stay exceeded our expectations. The hospitality at the camp was top knotch. We were welcomed by local Maasai and they took care of us during our entire stay! Our guide Antony was the BEST in Masai Mara. With only 2 game day drives, he knew exactly what to do and where to go, to see the most animals we possibly could. We couldn't be more grateful for our experience. I was in close communication with the camp leading up to our stay. They answered every question I had & it made the trip stress-free! The tents were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were surprised with a heated water pack daily so the bed was warm at nighttime. It was a nice touch! The location is incredible! We had zebras grazing on the camp daily. We even saw a monkey, hippo, and elephant from our camp. And the stay was very close to a pride of lions! On our last day we were surprised with breakfast in the bush. It was a very special ending to a once in a lifetime trip!

My wife and I picked the perfect place to enjoy the Masai Mara. The Il Muran Lentim Eco Camp combined a great price, excellent staff service, spacious camp, good food, and helped us set up our daily game drives in the Masai Mara. We were greeted upon arrival as V.I.Ps and it stayed that way throught our stay. Security staff is constantly present and you always feel safe. The Masai Mara is only a 1 min drive from the camp. Perfect location!! And the people that take you on games drives, are the Masai themselves who know the Mara inside and out and grew up there. One of the owners of the camp (Praba) went above and beyond to make our stay better than imagined. She help set up tours, listened to our needs, and assisted us in our Wedding ceremony on short notice with the Maasai Tribe. We are greatful and highly recommend this place. P.S- Coffee was always available. It was also the only place in Kenya I stayed at that offered very reasonable laundry services. I highly recommend staying here.

Without a doubt the best place we have ever stayed. The service was absolutely exceptional, from providing us with the perfect bespoke itinerary and sorting all our transport, to our wonderful Masai welcome, everyone went so out of their way to make sure we had the best time ever. As soon as we arrived in the camp we were made to feel right at home by the wonderfully kind staff. The tents were perfect and so peaceful. The location couldn’t be better - it is right on the border of the Masai Mara and a Masai village, which is also great to visit. The views out from the camp over the Mara are out of this world, and a constant hive of wildlife activity. On the game drives you are in the Masai Mara within 30 seconds. Anthony, the main guide is incredible, and extremely talented at finding the best positions to view all the wildlife - lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and many more on every single drive. What made this camp so special, however, is the staff. We were so touched by the hospitality we were shown. It is a small camp so your experience is able to be completely tailored to you. The food was also brilliant and every day we had a different delicious lunch and dinner. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. Can’t imagine there is a better way to do safari! It is relaxed, down to earth, and wholly personal. We have come away feeling very lucky to have stayed there.

Fantastic people, really caring... given the small size of the camp, the personal attention was great (but not bothersome). I'd go back there any time... 10 minutes from Talek gate... don't let Google Maps tell you otherwise... The food was good (we're vegetarian) and they packed good lunches for our time out in the reserve... Enjoy the place!

Small with personal service. Not much to do apart from the game drives. Very hot in the tents in the afternoon.

We loved staying at the Mara Major Lodge. Yes, it was pricey… but worth it. The tentalows are lovely and we got to hear many wild animals during the night, the staff was LOVELY and helped us plan all our excursions from A-Z! Special shoutout to our sweet game driver Sam. All the staff was Maasai as well, which was a lovely cultural immersion and they were all very open and friendly. Oh and the entrance to the park is so close, you can see it from the lodge! So convenient.

Beautiful location in the middle of the Masai Mara park with Zebras and Giraffes spotted frequently from the terrace. Friendly people, really attentive service. The tent had all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Authentic experience getting to know the locals who work at the camp. We had the most amazing safari experience with Anthony who knew the park inside and out and where to spot all the animals. Thank you!
