Staff was very helpful. Location was excellent, right on the beach. Resort is old and rooms are in need of some renovation, but very clean.

Merrils is a very nice family-owned resort. Nice little pool and a great beach. I would have loved some Appleton rum and rum cream in my coffee after Dinner, besides that awesome stay!

We recently stayed at merrils, and while there were many wonderful aspects of our trip, there were also some significant disappointments. First, the positives—this resort is located on one of the most stunning beaches we’ve ever seen. The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft, and the sunsets are breathtaking. The food was also very good, and the staff (outside of management) were friendly and welcoming, making an effort to ensure guests had a great experience. Unfortunately, our experience with management and our upgraded room left much to be desired. We paid for an upgrade, expecting a better experience, but instead, we had no WiFi and had to endure extremely loud noise until 2 AM the first night and 4 AM the second. We also requested multiple room fixes that were never addressed. Each time we inquired about speaking with the manager, we were given the runaround—told he would be there at 10 AM, then asked to return later, and we finally spoke with him at 12:30 PM. There was no real apology or effort to make things right. On our last night, we moved to a different room, which was a slight improvement, but outside noise was still an issue. If you are considering staying here, I’d highly recommend booking a room closer to the ocean and away from the street. Additionally, while the beach is beautiful, be prepared for a fair amount of solicitors. Overall, this resort has a lot of potential, but management needs to improve. If you choose the right room and go in with.

We wanted to stay in a small resort on the beach in Negril. Merrill‘s Beach resort ll was perfect in that respect. It was a beautiful setting!! We had a nice room near the beach and the swimming pool. The grounds were quite beautiful and the staff was amazing. They were very kind, helpful and friendly. The weather and the water were perfect. We would stay there again. My only complaint would be that the food was just OK. I know it must be hard to prepare three meals a day for a diverse group of people from all over the US and Europe. We ate a few dinners out but were unprepared for the cost of taxis and meals outside the resort. This is definitely something to consider when you are planning a trip to Negril. Drinks were also all inclusive and they varied all over the map depending on who was making them. Some were excellent and some were not worth drinking. I would recommend taking a lot of cash as most places outside the resort, unless they’re very high-end, do not take credit cards. One last comment: Jamaican people are extraordinarily hospitable and friendly. People from all over the world could learn from them.

This was the first time we stayed at an All-Inclusive Resort that was this small. It was a nice change of pace. Being small we were able to get to know the staff and some of the people that were staying here as well. But being small also cut down on the variety dinning options and things to do. We were surprised that the resort did not supply shampoo or body wash in the room. However, one the staff members was able to find some for us. Beach was amazing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was 3-star and acceptable. The food could use an upgrade. Less “mac&cheese” as I call the food that’s so American we might be anywhere in America. The few nights that there was Jamaican cuisine it was so mild-guess catering to that demographic.

I have stayed at this property for the last 6 years every January. The pros are the location, the 3 delicious meals that are included and the pleasant staff. The rooms themselves could use some work, better mattresses, more thorough housekeeping and minor cosmetic improvements throughout the room and property.
