The hotel is conveniently located on the main road of La Paz. We had a room facing the street overlooking the Malecon and ocean which was lovely. The parking was super easy. You drive into the small lot and an attendant drives it to a secured parking area. Check in was a breeze and the front desk clerk was very nice. There is a restaurant right beside it and a convenience store on the next block. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others.

This hotel has amazing location right in the heart of the Malecon. The La Paz sign right across the street. The beach is across the street too. Excellent location. The staff very accommodating and friendly. The room is outdated. The bed is as hard as a rock. Did not sleep well at all. I highly recommend at least having a comfortable bed. Even adding a mattress pad would be helpful. Overall, everything was great except the bed. I would stay again though. Just won’t sleep ;-)

The Perla is just right! Just opened a new bar restaurant just down the street here in La Paz and the Perla is the spot right on the Malecon and the water!

It took a lot of time to check in and the girl was not very pleasant. I think she as just learning and the man was helping her. Also we could not get on the internet on the our computer. My husband check with the office and they said theirs was working fine and that was that. We have stayed there before with no problems. Probably will not stay there again.

Liked that we were downtown--close to shops, stores, pharmacia, market, eating places, and yet on the waterfront to watch travel of boats, kayakers, people on beach, witness beautiful sunsets while dining.... I hated the boom-boom-boom coming from sports bars near the hotel on Thur-Friday-Saturday, until 3:30 am some nights. Someone should enforce volume limits--less than 100 decibels--and shutdown no latter than 2am. The hotel could submit complaints to the police.

We loved our stay at the Perla. The location couldn't be better for staying in La Paz. It is in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and all the sight seeing, snorkeling, tours etc. The place is kept immaculate and the staff was very helpful. Keep in mind that you are not staying at a American style hotel like the Hyatt. This is an old hotel in La Paz. It has it's quirks and you are definitely staying in Mexico, not everyone will speak English this is not a American Resort, which we loved. The rooms were more than adequate with a nice air conditioner, clean bathroom and a nice hot shower. There is a nice patio on top and one out front to have your coffee and watch the sunset. The Hotel gives you a Continental lunch, which is coffee , orange juice and toast and jelly. We added scramble eggs to make for a pretty cheap breakfast. We ate breakfast there most days but only ate dinner there once. It was good, but you'll want to mix up eating at one of the many places on or just off of the Malecon. Also remember that this is right on the Malecon, which means it can get noisy. We only had real noise Friday night when it seemed like every body comes out to party. The noise is not unique to this hotel as any hotel on the Malecon will be noisy. Like I said only Friday was bad, but you will want to bring earplugs in case. My wife had earplugs and she slept through it all just fine. Cons: Tepid Hot tub. Which probably could be fixed by just having them turned on earlier.
