Fun houseboat resort in a fairly unattractive industrial area of Gōteborg

La Mare resort staff were friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The boat house was clean and comfortable and in great condition and the area was peaceful. The resort was however very far away from any public transportation and we had to take an Uber into the city and sights. The Ubers were affordable but the cost did add up.

Staying on a houseboat was great experience. There was a hot tub and a sauna. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a little difficult to get to. Paid extra to park in an enclosed parking space.

Well, we were met with utmost care and were given the opportunity to choose between the different types of rooms. Very kind.

Novelty of staying on a houseboat is fun, and the place was nicely laid out and clean. However, there is essentially nothing in the immediate area for dining or amenities. There's a plaza of stores about 2km away. Immediate vicinity is a bit gritty and public transport is limited. It was odd to feel isolated yet look across the harbor and see a bustling city. A car or Uber is almost a must. My houseboat had a swampy smell to it. It wasn't the marina; the air outside smelled fine. Maybe need to clean a bilge pump or something.

Clean, quiet and five minute walk from local transport links

We weren't sure when we arrived to find ourselves in the middle of an industrial estate but once we'd settled in we really enjoyed our stay. It's about a 10 min walk to the tram - get yourself a day pass as it makes life so much easier and it even includes the ferries to the archipelago. The boat was comfortable and well equipped. We slept very well.

The property was nice and clean. However, check in experience was not pleasant. It said check in time is 4pm but it did not say you can ONLY check out at 4pm! It didn’t ask guests about the check in time. When I was there earlier, no one was there to open the gate. Only when I called the resort, a guy came back and told me he could only stay for 10 mins to check me in. Arrangement could be much better.

The properties are located close to commercial buildings / ship yard, so noise is to be expected. We had this 07:00 - 18:00. It personally did not bother me. LaMare houseboats are cosy, with the main enterance (on our houseboat) going through the one Bedroom. The small kitchen onboard met our needs, and had all the required utensils (although a tea pot would have been nice)

Great property, a bit out of town, but worth the walk. There was heavy snow during our visit, but the houseboat was very warm and cosy, and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, and even gave us a lift to the supermarket and waited to take us back so we could stock up on supplies. Looks like a great place to be in the summer too. Would definitely recommend if you want something a bit different to a hotel.

Unique location close to the city center. Great for kids and adults. Much more fun than staying at a traditional hotel.

Très beau logement et très propre. Un peu loin du centre de la ville, mais très joli emplacement et personnel très accueillant.

Rigtig dejlig husbåd. God plads og alt i orden. Vi vil komme tilbage igen.

Vi fikk nok den eldste husbåten. Grei standard og ok plass for en natt. Sentralt og fint. Våknet til at noen hadde spydd over panseret på bilen, trolig med vilje.

Flotte husbåter, minus for møkkete vann og beliggenhet. Men er du en gjeng så er selve området der båtene ligger helt fint. Området rundt virket litt slum med masse søppel og industri. Men ønsker meg en sånn husbåt 😊
