Very clean, spruce and spacious room. Generally I prefer resident reception but we were given all the access information in good time for our evening arrival and it all worked perfectly. Cécile was present and most helpful in the mornings. I recommend taking the breakfast - fresh bread, delicious cake, jams from the island, fruit, yogurts and coffee/tea to taste - all for €10 pp. Not to be missed.
If we go again - hope so - I'd chose a back bedroom. For some inexplicable reason the nightclubs on the square ejected patrons - French I'm afraid - at 4pm on a MONDAY night who roared at each other across the square outside. It seemed endless. Apparently there's a police number one can call for such delights but, well, we didn't.
Centre ville and quayside La Rochelle are so close. Don't miss the free animal park in the leafy space up the sea road - giant donkeys, tiny goats and many many fowl. Sweet!
