This is a beautiful hotel conveniently located in downtown. The bed and shower were both luxurious. Many great restaurants nearby. My husband liked the pool table in the lobby. The only downside was having to go to the parking garage, which was a long walk into the next door building and two flights of stairs away. There was a lot of construction when we visited (April 2025) which is temporary. Overall a good experience.

Great hotel.

Very nice hotel, cool concept. Would definitely stay again. Only suggestions would be more light in the foyer (it was a little dark) and stirrers for the coffee.

I need to cancel my reservation because my husband is in hospital. But since I didn’t realize it was non refundable…

Stay was great until i went to the lobby to check out and retrieve my vehicle from valet. There were what appeared to be 2 employees working the front desk. However only one was helping a customer, as i stood there with my bags for over 10 minutes the other employee avoided eye contact and never once asked if she could help me. So i thought she was perhaps busy doing something i could not see. Then a gentleman came down to the lobby and she promptly helped him. I spoke up and said excuse me, youve seen me standing here for 10 minutes while he (her coworker) helped a couple and never spoke up and asked if i needed assistance. She pretended not to hear me, although i am sure she did as everyone else in the lobby looked at me & then her. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will not return to this hotel.

Very easy checkin!

Very clean and modern hotel located in downtown Des Moines. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even made my husband a cup of coffee even after the coffee bar had closed. We also ate at the on location restaurant for lunch and it was delicious (guests get 10% off their meal too!)

Didn’t like parking.

The hotel itself was very bean and unique. The staff in the restaurant were very rude. Went to have drinks before dinner, no one there to greet you or let you know that dinner didn’t start until 5. Sat at the bar after asking the bar tender if that was ok, he said it was fine. Then basically was ignored the entire time we sat there. Would not ever dine there…

We really enjoyed our stay at Surety! We wanted a luxurious feeling hotel at a reasonable price and we got that here. The room was classy, clean, comfortable and quiet! We were on the 8th floor and had a great view while a thunderstorm rolled in at night. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We lucked out with street parking so that was easy and way cheaper than the lot. We’ll definitely be back!

Everything was wonderful except the parking. Explanation of where to park needs to improve for people traveling from a long ways away.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, and great location!

Attention to aesthetics was very nice upon entry. Welcoming front desk staff that provided disclosure of amenities. Rooms are clean with a helpful fridge. Guests should be aware that the hotel is in near proximity of the train track system. Overnight there will be a midnight -1am noice disturbance. The hotel offered complimentary ear plugs for this. Overall a very reasonable option for guests visiting the downtown Des Moines area.

Basic hotel - no bellman - no valet - no housekeeping - small rooms and one person working desk - restaurant has poor food -

Modern with vintage flair. Really nice and comfy beds. Big bathroom

Great hotel. Lobby bar had good food and drinks. Rooms are pretty small though.
