I like to walk and it was a little out of the way for Calle Larga or Park Calderón, but I did get to check out the little plaza near by that had a great set of restaurants and a museum of modern art. I did walk around a lot and it did not bother me much, however some people might just take a taxi to other places.

Propriedad no recomendable. Me despertaron a las 7 AM demandando que saque mi vehiculo del estacionamiento y que pague los $5 diarios. El dormitorio sin ventanas. El estacionamiento no es gratis. El WiFi una porqueria. No hubo agua. No habia como ducharse. No se podia usar el lavabo ni el sanitario. Me ofrecieron un descuento para la proxima visita pero no me quedo ni asi me den gratis.

Charming, older property. Breakfast provided in the morning. Maria(host) was very accommodating & nice. Good location to walk almost everywhere or catch a cab if needed. Restaurants & stores nearby. Soap provided, but bring your own amenities (shampoo, conditioner). Hair dryer available to borrow from front desk. Enjoyed our stay.

Very old colonial estate in central old town Cuenca. If you’re bothered by creaky wood floors and everything old and small rooms, this is not for you. But if you’re enchanted by the quaint setting, kind helpful staff and easy walking access to downtown Cuenca, it’s wonderful. Great price, safe and calm setting

This hotel was in a very convenient area, but was otherwise the worst experience I have ever had. The room was advertised as a queen bed, with air conditioning and bidets. It was a double, no climate control of any kind in the whole building, and no bidets. Breakfast was 7:30 to 9 but had no food left at 8 one day, and didn’t even start until 8 another. Also, while it says free WiFi and it was indeed free, the advertised rate of 250 is a massive lie. The best we got in five days was a speed of 3, which was impossible to use. The staff was rude, and definitely did not speak any language besides Spanish (which was fine, I speak Spanish! But they advertise the front desk can do English and French and they definitely cannot). They also failed to clean our room more than once despite cleaning listed as a daily, not two or three day cycle. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this place was rated so highly and was so not as advertised that I feel like I have to this time. Also, the beds are rock hard and the sheets and pillows are as thin as paper.

Overall hotel was good. Rooms are a bit run down and not enough towels for the party size when you book a large room. In addition there are no toiletries in the rooms.

This is a lovely property. The only complaint about the facilities is the towels were threadbare and fraying and the sheets thin. The location is excellent. All the historic area sites are within walking distance and there are lots of restaurants, coffee shops and pâtisseries on every block. We booked 4 nights though unfortunately they relocated us to another NASS hotel the first night...said our room needed repair. The explanation was a bit fishy. Then there was a mix up with billing on depature because of the relocation. The front desk was apologetic and sorted things out but the relocation did put a damper on our experience.

Beautiful old mansion with enclosed courtyard, sitting rooms (Salas), fun architecture and setting right downtown. Parking across the street costs $5 overnight. Staff got up at 5 am without complaint to open the parking garage so we could pick up our guests arriving at airport. Generous breakfast and very adequate bed. Excellent restaurants nearby.

We contacted the hotel in advance about parking, and we were told parking was free in the mornings and had a cost in the evenings. When we checked in they said they will pay the parking for the nights. At checkout they said we had to pay for all the parking. They also wanted to charge more than what the reservation said and they did not give us a proper receipt

Good location. Building was lovely with lots of areas to sit. However the staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. The door bell woke us up every morning at 7. Breakfast was poor, no fruit and fruit juice one morning and they run out of sausages and eggs another but plenty of good coffee was provided. We stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned once. They also charged us double the fee for parking.

The Hotel Casa Del Aguila was a nice place to stay in a city I just did not care for. The front desk was helpful on arrival and throughout our three-night stay. The room was a bit tight, though comfortable enough. The internet spotty. Breakfast was good and typical of most offered at similar South American hotels of the same quality. The highlight of the hotel is its beautiful common areas which provided a very relaxing place to hang out while not in the room. The entry door of the hotel is kept locked 24 hours a day, and you must ring a bell and await an employee to open it for you. It can get a little annoying, but I suppose they felt it necessary. The Old Town's architecture was nice, but our experience there was simply spoiled by the overwhelming and unhealthy level of air pollution created by the numerous buses traveling along its streets. In sum, the Hotel Case Del Aguila was a nice, affordable place to stay in a city we just did not care for.

The staff were very helpful, professional and courteous. We arrived on an early flight and were allowed to check in at 8:30a. Since we would also be leaving early on our last day, they let us have the complimentary breakfast that first day instead of the last since would be departing to early. There was no hair drier in the room but we borrowed one from the front desk as no extra cost. We got a wake-up call and they arranged a taxi for our early morning departure. The room was quiet largely because there were very few guests, but on the second night a group of excited young Americans were hanging out in the patio and we could hear them in the early evening. Luckily they didn't continue late in to the night, so we can say that our overall experience was quiet and relaxing.
