I loved The Foundry Hotel! My husband and decided to have a little mini-holiday and love the decor and space. Sadly, a flood in the middle of the night, meant we had to change rooms at 1 am (suitcases open, etc etc). The staff was great about it (and the night receptionist gave us a nice bottle of white wine to say thank you for our understanding), but I haven't heard anything from management about compensating us in any way (although I did ask).

Beautifully decorated Hotel, very unique modern style. The Team was super helpful with everything. And it's a walking distance to the V&A Waterfront. I will definitely come back again.

The hotel has 2 potential access points: 1 through a gate directly to entrance steps, another through a carpark round the side. The second access is used after 7pm when the gate is locked. Neither suitable for limited mobility needs & difficult for large suitcases. Walkable to V&A in daylight: Uber back. Check-in fine. The feel of the place is odd. No lift so had to carry heavy suitcase up & down stairs. Emily, only member of staff I came across on arrival, offered to help. Initially put in room 1 having booked a luxury room. Room included a kitchenette but was minimally kitted out. Basic bathroom. Safe did not open. Main door did not actually lock: card mechanism on the door did not work so supplied with a key to the deadbolt: this had been fitted with a Yale lock haphazardly & a good tug from inside/shove from outside opened the door easily. NOT SUITABLE FOR A LONE FEMALE TRAVELLER. Moved to another room very swiftly (#13) This was a downgrade to a smaller room (the basic “deluxe”, no kitchenette) but was not disclosed. This did lock with a keycard, safe also worked. It was along a corridor with steps & narrow points. Loud noise when using the bathroom due to water mechanism. Tap dripped, shower leaked, multiple light bulbs out. Smelled damp/sewage. Very dark decor. Breakfast: chose from a sticky laminated menu (included but told would be charged extra for bacon). Audio of Harry Potter playing loudly upstairs lobby late at night. Bed soft/pillows lumpy. Cannot recommend.

This is one of the most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel is part of a larger complex that has repurposed an old foundry into an ultra modern compound. Very cool space.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel is shared with hot office spaces so different from what you may be used to, but not to the detriment of our stay. Just a little quirky. Good location within walking distance of V&A waterfront although recommended to travel by uber / taxi after dark. Overall a good base for our weeks stay and good value compared to other hotels we had looked at. Lots of security personnel around the area which may make you feel nervous or reassured. We felt quite safe from our experience.

I love the repurposing of old buildings, and The Old Foundry has done this with great practical and aesthetic execution. The room was small, but we knew this when we booked. It had all the amenities we needed, including Africology products in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly, helpful and responsive to every need.

The staff at check out where great. Yet they had me up stairs after confirming with them for 3 months that I will not be set up in a room that required me to climb steps. They change me to another room but the room was not what I thought I was going to have at the end. The bathroom was small and I had to crawl to the shower since it was not accessible. It was a hard stay for me.

Excellent place to stay as a gateway to the waterfront. Lovely spacious room. Extremely friendly staff. It took us 10 minutes to walk to the waterfront and it was safe.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it wasn’t what I expected. It felt more like an office with more desks than bedrooms, and the constant sound of keyboards gave it an Apple-sponsored vibe. The lack of a proper restaurant (only a coffee shop) was a letdown, especially for a special occasion like my boyfriend’s 50th birthday, as it wasn’t romantic at all. The location was also a downside, with a homeless camp across the street, and the gates being locked at night caused some confusion with our Uber driver. Our room (Room 2) had thin walls, a weird glass partition separating the bathroom, and no blinds, so we had to use the reception area bathroom for privacy. The lighting was poor, and the apartment across the street made it impossible to open the curtains. On the bright side, the staff were lovely, particularly the friendly receptionist and a fantastic deaf waiter at breakfast. The chai latte I had was also the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall, while the staff were great, the hotel’s lack of privacy, awkward layout, and office-like atmosphere made it feel more like a work trip than a relaxing getaway.

Clean and quiet property in old warehouse section close to V&A waterfront area. Not a great view out the front but this place has character and not your average modern hotel layout but shabby chic with a bit of funk. Great breakfasts and Giorgio restaurant downstairs in courtyard for dinner. Reasonably priced for location!
