The view from the lodge was nice, though I don’t think it was worth the extremely long drive to get there (the detour to this lodge added 3 days to our itinerary). I was disappointed by the guided full-day hike into the canyon. The guided hike had a large (and very loud) group of about 10 people, and the guide Fillamon didn’t speak much English so he didn’t really tell us any interesting facts about the canyon or anything else. He also walked much too fast, not pausing for enough breaks. The guided hike has almost no good views as you hike deeper into the canyon; that’s the problem with downhill hikes. The sundowner was similarly crowded with loud people (a group of at least 20), which really detracted from the nature experience. We didn’t experience that many crowds anywhere else in Namibia. However, you can do some self-guided hikes along the rim of the canyon, and that was nice. I wish they just allowed you to hike into the canyon without a guide; I don’t really feel like you need a guide for it if they’d just provide a map, so it’s frustrating that you’re not allowed to do it without a guide.

The Lodge is situated on the edge of the canyon with spectacular views. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with a nice big shower, however, the shower head fixture had been fixed with a finger plaster and was shooting water out in all directions. The food is ok, not great, and I would have expected a higher quality at a lodge in this price range.

Great location obviously sitting right on the rim. Good food and wide selection of drinks. Good service. Strange you don’t get a Wi-Fi voucher for each night stay as we ran out on final night of our 2 nights. Appreciate you can buy more access but really for a hotel of this standard you should get one voucher per night. Trip into canyon worth doing, whilst it’s a full day and on some bumpy roads, to be able to get to swim and lunch near the bottom was a special experience.

Not an easy place to get to, but the view makes the drive worthwhile. We had a puncture just before the 20km turn off, but when we arrived, all hot & bothered, we were greeted with a smile, a cold flannel & a welcome drink. We were assured that our tyre would be fixed & it was, at no charge! Great customer service. We did the tour into the canyon, where Daniel exhibited incredible driving skills. Enjoyable trip, but very hot. The only negative was the lack of air conditioning in the room. When the temperature has been 40 all day a fan is not adequate.

The canyon views are breathtaking. Rooms are great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. This is a 5 star lodge in a very remote part of the world. Well worth the effort it takes to get there!

Beautiful view of the Canyon! Five star rating for the view! But for the money overall more was to be expected. Rooms were very simple, not the place that you want to spend anytime. No airconditioning, dirt walkways to your cabin made it difficult for luggage transfers. Lots of wind at night but the windows were at the ceiling so it did not help with the heat. Also the 2 hour drive on rough roads was tiring. The last hour was only on lane and had to be driven slowly but we made it in a front wheel drive Renault Sandero. No WiFi in the room and lobby WiFi was super slow. Dinner was good as well as breakfast.

An amazing hotel on the edge of a canyon with spectacular views. It is very remote but the lodges were spacious with big comfortable beds. There's a pool and bar area in the main hotel. All the food we had was tasty. Overall we had a great stay here for 2 nights.

Highly recommend staying here. The views of the canyon are amazing and all the guest ‘chalets’ are situated along the rim of the canyon. They are very comfortable, considering this place is in the middle of nowhere (the drive to the lodge is bumpy but lovely too). The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is excellent too. Thought it was very good value especially considering the price included dinner and it is so far away from anywhere.

One of the most beautiful settings for a lodge you can ever imagine. Beautiful chalets. The guided trip into Fish River Canyon is highly recommended. The staff were the friendliest we encountered in Namibia and that's saying something because all Namibians have been very friendly. A maintenance man named Old Joe fixed a puncture in my tyre for free. Warning: We did the final 19km drive to the lodge in a two-wheel drive saloon (goingless than 20 kmh), but I would never do it again - an SUV is the minimum required.

This was a birthday stay at this excellent lodge - on the rim of the canyon. The 104 km drive on a track was a bit of a long one particularly in a VW Polo - the last 19 km is fine but there is one section on the "main" gravel road that includes sand and then gravel hitting the underside of the car. Same going back the following day! Food good and service fine. The first hotel I've stayed at where we issued with ear plugs at check in - because of the wind!!

A gem in the deep south of Namibia. This lodge has a great location with most spectacular views from every spot on the premises including the chalets. The service was very warm and welcoming and the staff tried to make sure we optimise our experience time and cost wise. Although not young child friendly due to its location right on the canyon edge with no fences, our two kids (5 and 8) were warmly welcomed and made very comfortable at this lodge. The sundowner drive is wonderful and a self guided walk along the edge is quite easy and a great diversion. The decor was contemporary but grounded in local natural materials. The food was good and the prices overall felt reasonable. Not to be missed.

This lodge really is on the edge of eternity. The food was high quality even though it was a set menu each night. Great choice of wine and beer. Wind could get noisy at night but we quickly got use to it. The short (1-2 hour) walks along the rim were worth it, especially at sunset or early in he morning. We strongly recommend either the drive or walk into the canyon as it is the only way to truely appreciate the vastness of the place and experience it's 3 different levels.

An amazing setting. Good food. Nice staff Expensive on site tours. You don't need a guide for the rim walks - really not worth it . The 'endless trails' turned out to be one in each direction. Need a guide for the hikes down into the canyon ; that's all.

The location of this place, in itself, makes it a once in a lifetime experience. Unique and breathtaking situation directly over the canyon. In addition, the minimalist design, pure lines, use of local stones, delicate hues of colour, refinement of details... provide an exceptional discovery for the aesthetes and the nature lovers. Everything is done to satisfy the clientele. The staff is friendly, professional and respectful. The food is refined. The ambiance is subdued luxury at its best.
