We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e Memorias where husband and wife cook for you and welcome you in. The pool was not yet open unfortunately since it was March but would have been an incredible view. There’s also a kids playground set which helps for the little ones and a small little fish pond. The property has beautiful lemon and orange trees. A full and delicious warm breakfast was served directly to your door. A very peaceful stay! Highly recommend.

Friendly welcome. Our bungalow had a balcony with a lovely view of the river. Delicious breakfast delivered to our room in the mornings. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. A fabulous place to stay.

Amazing views, right above the gorgeous Duoro River. Fabulous staff, breakfast delivered to room each morning. Location is a bit remote, requiring driving crazy mountain roads to get anywhere….but worth it!

Great place to stay! Starting from the staff that were really nice and welcoming. Perfect size room with small kitchen, and balcony to enjoy the beautiful view of Douro River. Breakfast is delicious and served in your room. I highly recommend to stay at Portovella Lodges and Bungalows when visiting this part of Douro Valley!

Beautiful property with breathtaking views at the west entrance to Duro valley . We stayed in the family suite with 2 full bathrooms and a small kitchen which was very convenient and large. Citrus trees on the property were blooming and the fresh scent was amazing. Fresh Breakfast was delivered to the unit. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful view from grounds, very comfortable room and super breakfast delivered to the door each day. Fantastic restaurants nearby in Cinfaes.

Absolutely beautiful location in the valley. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Staff were lovely and very helpful, especially with confirming reservations for activities in the area. Highly recommend!

Very modern, spacious and super well appointed with nice "extras" like outdoor tables/chairs. Staff is one of the best anywhere.

This property is really well managed and cared for. The view from the bungalow we stayed in was beautiful and made the stay very special. Breakfast is delivered daily and was very good. We ate in each evening, facilities worked well for this. Pool was really nice and clean and lots of lounging options.

The grounds of this property are meticulously maintained and gorgeous. The rooms are clean and the breakfast box is excellent.

Gorgeous property in a quaint part of the Douro Valley, awesome staff, big comfortable rooms and fantastic breakfast!!!

This was a lovely, newer property, with a beautiful view of the river. Amenities were as reported - the pool was nice and the breakfast basket was really a treat. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Five of us were very comfortable in the large suite.
