The air conditioning in our room did not work the entire stay. Because of the holiday weekend the hotel was short-staffed. Otherwise it’s a great place, including the rooftop restaurant.

The staff was quite friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience was not what I expected from a boutique hotel. There is no elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. My room had a window facing a staircase that leads to the bar, offering little privacy as people could easily see inside. To reach the room, you have to pass through the kitchen and laundry facilities, which felt unusual and took away from the boutique feel. The room itself was quite noisy, making it hard to get a good night's sleep.

Great hotel for a weekend in La Jolla. Clean, convenient, within walking distance of everything you’d want or need.

This boutique hotel is very clean, comfortable and a great location to explore downtown La Jolla. Just a short walk to see the seals at the cove , and easy to catch Uber/Lyft. Staff was attentive and kind. Check in and check out were pleasant and welcoming. 24 hour convenience shop on site. Rooftop restaurant and bar on site. Amenities in room were nice, toiletries and earplugs were provided. Bed was comfortable. Only note of improvement was that the lobby water tumbler was broken so it was not possible to refill waters at the hotel.

Great location. Kind of a motel / hotel because some rooms are right on the street. Rooms are small but nice.

The employees of this hotel could not have been any nicer. They were extremely polite- going above and beyond with any request. I was frustrated though that the hotel only had one staff member on duty at a time. This required them to work the front desk, valet, the convenience store attached, and take care of anything else that needed to be done. They handled it with a smile but they were clearly torn between duties. I hate when business try to squeeze every dime out of paying customers at the expense of the hotel guests and their employees. I realize this was a boutique hotel but that’s not an excuse for under staffing. On another note- our room had water leak around the window. The dripping noise was loud and the carpet wet but the accommodating staff quickly set us up in another room.

Absolutely loved this hotel—so much personality! The views (we were on the second floor) looked straight out at the ocean. The balcony overlooks the iconic curved street leading down to the tip of La Jolla/Oceanfront. We walked just a couple of doors down to Duke’s and had dinner on their oceanview deck. Then we came back and headed to the rooftop bar that extends over the hotel—it was the perfect end to the evening. Parking might be a pain, but you can Valet by pulling right up to the front door. There is a parking garage down the street to the right - if you want to self park. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Our stay was not terrible but there are definitely things that could be improved upon. First, be prepared to have a loud stay. The street noise is very loud as is the noise from other guests. If you’re staying on the third floor you will hear the chairs from the restaurant immediately above you between 8:30am and about 9:30/10pm. You’ll also start to hear trash trucks or city buses at about 6:30am. Ear plugs will help greatly but if you struggle with sleep or don’t like much noise, I would reconsider your stay. It would be a nice touch if the hotel provided complimentary ear plugs as this is a comment many people have made. There were a few amenities in our room that we had to fix - no hand soap, broken off body lotion, and the AC wall thermostat fell off the wall a few times and we had to replug it in ourselves so that the AC worked. The room itself was clean so no complaints there. The bed and pillows were comfy and bathroom decent. They do send housekeeping everyday which is very nice as most hotels do this only upon request now. However, there were no privacy signs because they “still needed to be ordered” so you had to tell front desk whether you wanted them to skip your room this morning. However, that didn’t work for us because housekeeping showed up anyway. We probably wouldn’t stay here again due to the price, but it was not a terrible option in comparison to the prices in other areas.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice boutique hotel with a nice & different vibe than a larger corporate hotel. Love the welcome cocktail, soft comfy robes, and the balcony with a view of the Pacific. And it's in a great location - easy walks to restaurants, shops, and the beach. Took just under twenty minutes to the airport in the early morning.
