After reading the reviews, I was convinced I wanted to choose the Centara. A nice, large room (junior suite), very friendly, helpful, and attentive staff, a great breakfast buffet, and last but not least, a beautiful swimming pool convinced me to choose the Centara. This allowed us to promise our son that if he came with us to Chiang Rai, he could spend the entire next and last day in the pool. However, we were all, especially our son, very disappointed. The staff informed us that the pool was closed for maintenance for another three days…! So we had to take our swimming gear home unused. Very, very disappointing.

I checked in with a good feeling thanks to the friendly welcome from the staff. However, I was trying to take a break because of construction going on somewhere, but the constant noise of drilling made me give up. I could hear the sound of water in the bathroom next door, and suddenly, cigarette smoke appeared, as if the guest next door was smoking in the early hours of the morning. It was clearly a non-smoking room, but the refreshing feeling of a spacious room and clean bathroom was marred by the soundproofing and the smell of cigarettes.

Overall the stay was very pleasant. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Due to its location away from the popular parts of town, it is reasonably quiet, except during peak hours when traffic builds up along the main road from the bridge. The hotel needs some upgrading as it is starting to look slightly tired.

Booked two rooms for five adults. There are swimming pool, fitness, and sauna. The rooms are large and well maintained.

Love the place! Located near the river. Away from bustling areas. The room is large enough and the facilities are perfect.

The size of the rooms is excellent. The check-in staff were very accommodating when I requested a change of room to one that was accessible. The Concierge staff were also super helpful and cheerful whenever we had to bring the wheelchair down to the road level. Having a wheelchair lift was most important and helpful. The hotel is very popular with large tour groups and that could be a bit disconcerting especially with the crowds at the lobby and the noise you can hear from within the room as sound insulation is non-existent. The hotel admittedly needs a facelift badly as it is showing its age. Carpets in the room could be refreshed.

The door lock had a problem. During the 2 night stay, the door had a problem every day. Overall, everything was very good, except for the door.

The hotel is nice, clean, and has a good view. I give it full marks.

Peaceful place with the river view, not too far from old town, no pollution, and wonderful food buffet dinners.

Everything is good. Check in after 3pm but still have to wait for the room.

After check out half way back and count the money It appears that the money is missing eight thousand baht.
