Hotel has a lovely view and pretty grounds, but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to enjoy them or sit on the terrace etc. The interior of the hotel is very dated and the hallways smelt musty. However, the rooms were perfectly clean and of a good standard, althought the bed was a little uncomfortable. The bathroom was fitted with a power shower that looked new and worked well. There was plenty of car parking. Staff were freindly and breakfast was very good, althought the dining area did not have a great ambience. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening. The hotel is in a rural location so it was necessary to drive to reach town, but the price did reflect this. Falmouth as a whole seems to be very highly priced at present, so although less than the hotels in town, this stay did not feel like great value for money.

Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.

Lovely welcome and the restaurant staff were so friendly. Room was very comfortable and we had everything we need (except a working plug in the bathroom sink?!!) The only thing we’d like the hotel to think about is the lack of vegetarian options on the dinner menu. There was no vegetarian option printed on the menu - chef did provide something very tasty but there was only one dish available and so we didn’t eat there again after the first night. Location is great for visiting a student at the uni and very quiet, beds very comfortable. We preferred it to the Merchants Manor and will return.

Very old fashioned and expensive for what the hotel is. Poor house keeping service.

Stayed for a weekend for the sea shanty festival. This hotel is clean and friendly but desperately in need of repair and a serious update. The view from the patio is lovely and the grounds could be spectacular if they were cared for.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the setting was beautiful. The hotel was a bit dated and the room got very warm at night. The shower in room 10 was great. More sockets for charging were needed as there was only one, it would have been very difficult if I had been with my husband. The breakfast was lovely and they cooked what you wanted. It was a great location for me as my daughter was graduating from the university and it was only 10 minutes up the road. I only stayed 1 night but would loved to have spent another couple of nights.

The customer service was a disappointment. Only few staff members who were in the dining area and the receptionist were polite but the hotel manager and the owners of the hotel were extremely rude to the customers.

Views from rear balcony were great, good seating area. Bedroom very disappointing, needs a good upgrade. Shower problem with leaking hose and all taps were difficult to turn on and off. Mould on bathroom ceiling. Towels not changed during our stay. Room was not cleaned or vacuumed all week. Tissues ran out after 3/4 days and not replaced. Wardrobe and hanger facilities were inadequate

Thank you for our lovely stay - we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the time away. Just a little disappointed as the room did not appear to be typical of the pictures of the upgrade to the Manor - although it was perfectly nice.

Our room felt damp and it affected my wife's asthma. We asked for a change of room and the staff very quickly and efficiently facilitated this move. The second room had an upgraded shower room which meant the room was fine. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very good and overall our stay was a good experience. We chose the hotel for its location to a wedding we were attending and it was ideal.

Great place. Location and views are amazing. Dogs are allowed everywhere as long as they are on a lead at all times which is a bonus. Rooms could do with a refurbishment.

Pleased with our choice of hotel, good hard working friendly staff, we ate in the restaurant at night, good food at fair prices and not overpriced at the bar, Great location for a peaceful stay.

Check in was relatively painfree though, when shown to my room and given door codes, I was actually not shown the Courtyard entrance which proved essential on my second night as I arrived back after the hotel closed and I could not access my room until I ph oned the hotel to ask where it was. Stumbling around in the dark trying to find it was not a good experience. Breakfast was also rather uninspiring.

This hotel is incredibly run down and is in desperate need of a massive overhaul. I doesn’t look like it’s seen a lick of paint since the 80s. Considering that this hotel is not cheap (£155 per night) and is 3 AA stars, we were expecting something allot better. Disappointing.
