Lovely rural authentic hotel in Alpujarra. Good base for exploring. Excellent service - thank you Victor. Nice breakfast to start your day. Coffee, tea, bar and snacks available. No dinner available but bar/restaurant across the street and two small restaurants a short walk away. Quiet and peaceful location. Parking just outside hotel.

This was our 3rd stop-over stay in the family-run hotel, as we walked through Las Alpujarras & Sierra Nevada mountains. Large rooms, beautiful gardens and lovely pool. More expensive than some places & wi-fi is limited to the bar area. Pizza bar down the road is always fab & friendly and a new bar/restaurant opposite, which we didn't get to.

This place is special. The hotel is wonderful and the hosts, Victors senior and junior, are really great. If you are walking in the area, plan your itinerary with at least one night here. You won't regret it.

Very comfortable spacious room. Friendly helpful staff. Good night's sleep. We stayed for a week walking in the Alpujarras and Mecina is very centrally located. The hotel does not do evening meals but we easily ate at one of three bars/restaurants in the Village. The hotel allowed us to make up picnics from the breakfast buffet for an additional charge which was very useful.

Situated in a quiet mountain village, the hotel is a great jumping off place for quiet hikes through woods, meadows with wildflowers, and steep paths to the river and to other villages. Victor the proprietor is knows everyone and gives great advice re hikes to take, places to eat and to visit. Low key. Relaxing.

Great, friendly service. It would have been good to have a kettle in the room though. Ideal spot from which to explore la Taha and it's only 15 minutes drive up to Bubion for some higher walks.

The hotel is a traditional hotel in a very pretty unique area. Victor and his family were really welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay a lovely experience.

This hotel was lovely. Bit of a trek to get to it up very winding roads, superb spot for serious road cycling or walking. Hotel was very welcoming and Victor was very friendly. Due to the timing of end of walking season and just before Spanish holidays season we were the only clients staying for the night - we were en route to cycling holiday in berchules - but I don't think this mattered as even if they were full I believe the superb service would have been the same. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed for refurbishment so we are unable to comment on food but judging by the breakfast that was put on I would imagine it to be excellent as breakfast was superb. The room itself was huge with a very comfortable bed and very clean with a nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool area. The pool was lovely with (the only criticism) very tired sunbeds.

A well run small hotel, with spacious rooms, good food, good service. Nice position for relaxing, reading, walking etc

The hotel is located in a most beautiful part of the Alpujarra valley, very scenic and lots of attractive walks in the immediate area between several enchanting white villages. Also a selection of interesting pubs and restaurants in close proximity.

Lovely hotel with very nice staff and perfect location to visit this side of Alpujarras (less than 20 minutes drive to the top spots in the area, Bubion, Capileira, Pampaneira, etc.).

Two years on from our first visit and the place is still as special. Stunning mountain location in the Alpujarras with wonderful swimming pool in the beautiful gardens and loads of plants in the atrium. Our room was even better this year - large, cool and balcony to the mountains. It's a tranquil place and the owner and staff are warm, friendly and helpful. We were walking between villages for a week and went back to the wonderful music pizza restaurant just along the road from the hotel, overlooking the gorge. Perfect in every way and thanks for the breakfast!

A truly wonderful hotel, very personal approach from Victor and his staff. nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was very clean the room had air con !!!!!! A real treat in a very hot July. Lovely breakfast , will definitely book again when we visit the La Taha .......

Unfortunately hotel was virtually empty and so was lacking in atmosphere especially in the dining room which is quite large.

we only stayed here for 1 night - charactful hotel, the room was large, clean and with a fridge. Lovely swimming pool in the garden and a great plavce from which to do short walks into the gorge and smaller Alpujarran villages close by. Breakfast was included in the room rate, although this was not made clear and we didn't have time to stop and enjoy, as we off early to walk to the next place. Lovely piano / guitar bar just along the road for simple evening meals, looking across to the mountains and wonderful salads, rectangular pizzas and simple meat dishes. Well worth a stop.
