My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the end of May and overall really loved our stay, here is a brief breakdown: PROS: > very convenient proximity to Paddington station, only a 3-4 minute walk. > There is a beautiful green park with huge trees right outside the front of the building >has a true English vibe with smaller quarters and narrow stairs, quaint furnishings. >staff were amazing! I loved that the front desk was open 24/7 for checking in and out. They also let us store our bags for several hours the last day so we could explore some more without carting around our luggage after checkout. CONS: > No air-conditioning (but is typical for here), given one fan and can open windows. This worked well for our stay during late spring but might be challenging during summer heat. >Mobility challenges: the stairs are very narrow and can be dofficult to meneuver with big suitcases, DOABLE but be warned. If you have mobility issues make sure to discuss your room situation. We stayed on the 4th floor and even for my husband and I in our early 30's in decent shape it was a LOT of narrow stairs, became a long-standing joke while we were there. >No fridge: not a make-or break for us, but I would have loved to be able to stick some leftovers/goodies we baught in a fridge once back. Overall a pleasant place to stay for a shorter trip, convenient train station access and wanting to stay somewhere that isnt completely modernized that has some charm.

Rooms were clean. Location was fine. However horrible soundproofing. The building shook all night as the underground runs clearly under the building. The doors slammed all night and morning when anyone entered or exited. Didn’t sleep for two nights. No curtains in the room either and bathroom was too small to change so found this really uncomfortable. Rooms around me were being painted in and from 7am scrapping in the bathroom was being heard in the room next to me. Honestly one of the worst stays I have ever experienced!

I like this place and th elocation on Norfolk Square is excellent. That said, there's no lift and lots of steep stairs. I think it's good enough, but maybe not worth quite what is charged for it, in comparison to other local choices.

Our Economy Double room was spotless but the smallest room I've ever stayed in. Book it only if you are slim (otherwise won't fit into bathroom). Tiniest sink ever too! Nowhere to place suitcases even worse for a large one. Zero amenities. Only paper cups available. We didn't like that we had to hand in our room key & someone entered our room to bring fresh towels. We did not ask for room service & there was no "Do not disturb. card to place on door. Chilled water in lobby is a nice feature and the staff at the front desk are very nice.

The hotel has true style, charm, and character. The staff at the front desk were excellent. My room on the third floor had a lovely view of the magnificent trees in Norfolk Square. I was delighted that the window opened and that there was a reading lamp perfectly positioned above the bed. The neighbourhood was great. Finding a charming family run cafe two minutes on foot from the hotel made breakfast a joy and at the end of the day good restaurants were abundant. The noise from the trains did not trouble me. I stayed for four nights and hope to stay at St. David’s again, when I next visit London.

Very friendly staff and lovely clean and modern room. Nice touches with drinks available and luggage storage. Ask for a lower room if you struggle with stairs.

This was a nice stay for a good price. It's location near Paddington Station was super convenient. While it's an older hotel, they've updated the rooms nicely and while very "efficient" in size, newer amenities like phone charging plugs were well placed. There was a little bit of noise from the trains, but nothing that kept us up. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and there is no elevator but the front desk staff offered to help take our luggage up. It would have been nice to have a wider selection of tea at the hallway station, but that's getting a bit picky on my part. Lovely stay.

Great area very close to Paddington station with plenty of places to eat nearby. The rooms were small but decorated thoughtfully and full of character. Staff were friendly and on hand 24/7. Could hear the rumble of the underground but wasn't an issue on my floor.

More places to hang things in the bathroom (hooks/rods) would have been welcome, as well as more places in the room to store/unpack clothes.

The property is as it says a classic hotel. If you come with that expectation and a good set of legs for the stairs you will have a wonderful authentic time

The room and shower booth were on smaller side but had good view of pretty green park, good heating and most of all, very accessible location from Paddington Station, major transit hub. Drinking water faucet is in the lobby. Paid capsule coffee and soft drink vending machine too.
