Choosing Ohana without excessive expectations since looking at the reviews here it seems so-so. I chose Ohana with the intention of staying overnight for a transit trip and it was the most affordable among the hotels in Berau. Surprisingly, Ohana is very comfortable and clean. When I first entered the room, I immediately noticed the floor was very clean. Then I checked the equipment (towels, blankets, mats, soap, tissues) everything was safe, but the towels were a bit lacking in fragrance. Oh yeah, I got a 600ml bottle of drinking water too, which was pretty good. The AC (16°C fan maximum) was not cold enough, but not that hot. There was a TV too, but I didn't turn it on. The bathroom shower only had cold water, the toilet was also safe.
The receptionists on the night shift (two ladies without hijab) were very friendly and helpful, even offering to lend me their motorbike because I wanted to go out for a while to buy toothpaste. The receptionists in the morning seemed a bit rude and unfriendly.
Overall it's good, for those looking for a hotel or place to stay, this is recommended because it's cheap.
