Lovely hotel and the room was stunning

Lovely spot and will be amazing when the work is complete Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and freshly cooked to order and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Yes there is a lot of building work/renovations taking place but we knew that beforehand and no issue.

even though the Hotel is being fully renovated this did not impact on our stay, the food was lovely and the staff were too.

Great breakfast. Steep stairs and no lift but was given help with luggage. Very friendly staff.

Hotel was under renovation and the rooms we stayed in were yet to be renovated. Lovely building and staff, excellent restaurant and food, will consider returning once refurbishment is completed.

Helpful friendly staff, comfortable room. Very good breakfast included in the price, with sea views from the breakfast room. The shower controls were a little stiff and difficult to operate but quality soft towels compensated. Would have appreciated net curtains to allow light into the room, whilst maintaining privacy. Overall would definitely recommend.

Renovations had started which I was warned about. Excellent service, nice room (did sound like the people in the next room were using my bathroom at night), sound proofing is my only complaint. Fantastic staff, great food and decent location.

It was a 2 hour+ drive but so well worth it. It's a lovely old building with stunning views over fields to the sea. Beautiful warm weather for early March so we sat outside with a bottle of wine and watched the sunset. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We had bed breakfast and evening meal. The food was excellent, freshly made from a very appetising menu. Large, comfortable, well-appointed bedroom with en suite. We had a peaceful sleep, as it was lovely and quiet. Well priced, great value for money. We are hoping to return very soon.

This is a lovely hotel, with charm and character. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were cozy, clean and warm, which was great as it was freezing outside! The bathroom also clean and in good condition - the shower was great! The location was also better than we thought - we were able to get to other lakes and towns, a shopping outlet and even the coast within 30-60min drive. The only 'quirk' with this hotel was that at each breakfast, we got a different portion size, despite ordering the same dish! But the food was tasty. All in all, a lovely place to stay.

Nice hotel for a business stay over

The property is undergoing refurbishment and our room (room 21) was very much in need of it with big chunks out of the wall plaster. Whilst some folk would prefer, the bed was very hard but bedding was comfortable and appeared new. The bath has large chips in the main areas and looks very tired. The over bath shower had sufficient pressure but the shower hot water controller was broken allowing a luke warm shower only. The hotel prefers hand pump toiletry bottles but all four pumps appeared to be broken but came out easily from their holders for direct access. I was especially annoyed that our door had been left open, presumably all day. Nothing was missing but the security of our possessions should have been secure.
