This is hotel is more breathtaking than the pictures show. The views from the rooms and common spaces are beautiful. Everything is designed in a way that makes you feel like you're connected to nature and the local culture. Every meal we had was exceptional and we enjoyed plenty of beer and wine and cocktails! I had more pina coladas than ever before!
We had a small single room with a private bathroom and it was great for us (two young femmes). If you are a bigger person, I'd recommend a room with a queen bed and more space to maneuver. The staff were kind and let me practice my Spanish. Some staff only speak basic English so be patient and brush up on your intro Spanish.
Things I wish I knew/planned for ahead of time: there are steep stairs! Every trip to the restaurant, bathroom, or our room meant climbing dozens of steep steps. There is no room or lakeside service, so you have to go retrieve drinks and food yourself. Be ready to use your legs! The rooms don't have fans. On muggy days it can get humid and warm in the rooms. Bring a small fan or travel when it's windy or cloudy to avoid being really hot. The wifi can be weak at times, so buy an esim with double the data.
I am so glad we went and will remember this stay for the rest of my life!
