Although the hotel might need a little updating, They are very accommodating and provide all the comforts you need. Our room was like a little apartment. There is a beautiful beach just steps away which also has delicious food to eat. Free Wi-fi as well.

It's a family managed property where the family members were very friendly and warm. They went extra miles to give us comfort. There is a really nice local beach just 5 minutes walk from the apartment. There are no supermarket within walking distance. The property needs refurbishment as it looks and feels old. The room was noisy because it was just beside main road. There is a bus stop very close from the property. its 20 minutes by bus from Bridgetown city centre.

This property can best be described as "tired" at best. Front entrance door is kept closed at all times which is somewhat off-putting.l paid for a room with aircon. but this did not work, the owner not offering a discount for this ommission, just informed me that the fuse needed replacing. shaver sockets in Bathroom also not working, and no instructions on how to operate the TV either. Although only a short walk to the beach, this really is the only attraction in the area.Only shop nearby is at the Esso gas station a 5 minute walk, where can be found also a "fastfood" chicken restaurant. Bus stop to Bridgetown outside Chicken restaurant was the only convenient way to leave the area, but provided a cheap and convenient way to get into town. Very expensive 3 night stay. BEWARE, that "$" prices shown on Hotels .com booking site are in US dollars and NOT Barbados dollars

Excellent property and location. Family run and all very friendly and helpful. My only quibble had sent 2 emails prior regarding questions and got no replies which made me anxious. Improve thta aspect and its an allround great place and I would go there again if in Barbados and want to be Bridgetown accessible.

Negative Points: the accommodation is old and close to a road. Ask for the most distant rooms. Positive points: the accommodation is 50 meters from a beautiful beach with a good bar/restaurant, and bus stops. It is very convenient ! The owners are very pleasant people.

Just returned home after a two week stay at the Walmer Lodge. In general we were really satisfied by the accommodations and our experience was better than what we expected. A well kept spacious and comfortable accommodation with all the basic amenities for the homely experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to beach and bus stop.

This apartment is located next to a beach which is always quiet and have a lovely picnic area. You can get the government yellow and blue bus from right outside the apartment and this can take you direct to Bridgetown. There is also an Esso petrol station about 3 mins walk away which sells a fair bit of things and if you like chicken there is a chicken shop opposite this where you can get your meal and sandwiches as well. The accommodation is quite comfortable and the staff are all lovely, approachable and very helpful. The accommodation can do with a bit updating but it has all the necessary things needed to get you by.

Elroy and his wife were very helpful and friendly. The downside to staying here is the location is not around shops or restaurants however, the bus stop was right out front. Within walking distance to a nice local beach that was enjoyed every evening. The noise from the street can be prevented with earplugs.

Evidently, what you think of this hotel depends on what you want. I almost passed on this because of the fair to poor reviews, and I am so glad that I went with my gut and decided to stay here. Let's start with the only negative. If you are driving, DO NOT go by google maps. They will send you to the wrong place. Go to the last roundabout, and instead of taking the first exit, take the third. Find the Esso station (even if you use google maps) and they will give you directions. However, if you find the Esso, the hotel will be right up the street on the left. You can barely see the hotel's sign from the Esso. This hotel was exactly what was needed. It was one of the cheapest available, and much cheaper than the "western" hotels. The hotel is a bit dated, but that is part of its charm. It looks very Barbadian, and had a "native" air that was perfect. Hotel rooms have full kitchen, free wifi and American cable. It is also less than 50 yards/50 metres from the beach. Some have complained about the traffic noise. Yes, the hotel is on a major route by the coast. If you decide not to rent a car, it seems that a bus goes by every 2-3 minutes. You're just a few miles from downtown Bridgetown, and not much farther from the shopping at Holetown. You could definitely do worse than this hotel. I'm not sure I could have done better than finding this hidden gem.

The best thing about Walmer Lodge Apartments is its location, very close to Batts Rock Beach. The apartments are rather basic, the fixtures and fittings are a bit tired (but have a certain Bajan charm), and there is some road noise to get used to, but everything is comfortable enough and the electrical equipment - TV, air con and wifi works well. The kitchenette has all you need to get by for a few days and you are within walking distance of a garage that sells a good selection of groceries. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are cleaned every day and new towels, etc., provided. And the rates are very reasonable, realistically priced for the kind of accommodation provided. I very much enjoyed my stay.

I had a lovely time. I felt very much at home and would stay there again. It was nice waking up in the mornings and taking a short stroll to the beach, which was literally in the backyard. I took the local bus to Bridgetown for shopping, and restaurants. I stayed for 10days and I enjoyed every moment. Nice, Nice
