Great views over the lake, spacious rooms and Alpacas roaming the grounds. We had a nice stay, the rooms can be little cold as the window seals aren’t great (we were there on a windy night). It is a little further from town than I expected but a taxi to the Main Street is only 10 Bolivianos. Staff were friendly and provided detailed info about the area.

The hotel was okay. The photos make it look much better than it is but probably still better than most in the area. Bring your own bath towels as the ones provided are old, rough, and look dirty. Also, there may or may not be hot water for showers. Good luck with that. This is especially bad since the rooms have no heat and the area is cold at night. The breakfast is decent unless you are a vegetarian or need gluten free options. If you do, bring your own food or have breakfast somewhere else. The staff is helpful but overworked. I only saw three different people running the place. The rooms do have great views of lake Titikaka.

I had an overall pleasing time at this hotel. The view from the room was amazing. I think the hotel would be excellent if they made a bit of maintenance to the facilities. The staff was really friendly during my stay . I would definitely come back to this hotel if it can improve the maintenance of the place

This is a CASH only property. They will not take credit cards for your stay, something they nor any of their agents inform you of prior to arrival. It's a new property a fairly long hike along an uneven, stoney path away from the town centre. It is very, very hard to reach on foot, so take cab. The property is newish and has many, many features that are unfinished. Missing lights, broken stairs, terrible wifi connection, water issues (the taps are fitted upside down so hot is cold and cold is hot) and dogs running loose on the property and outside that bark and howl all night. A large part of the property is still under construction. It's a building site in many areas.

The hotel is just out of town, not the greatest location given the walk back from dinner is a bit interesting with the lack of light. Overall the room is ok but build quality is poor. Shower doesn't drain, power cord split with exposed wires and the list continues (still comfortable and clean though). Breakfast was also poor as it was mainly different breads but all of them were stale. That said, the staff were excellent and did all they could to help. Overall, average hotel with great staff.

We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are clean and modern with nice views of the lake. Never had a shortage of hot water, staff was super friendly and accommodating and the english movie channels were a bonus. It is a 10 minute walk from the main street but it's a nice walk along the lakeshore. The alpacas love this hotel, too. What a treat to watch them eat, sleep and enjoy the sprinkler in the yard!

The hotel is away from the main town along an unlit road with piles of rubbish, and broken glass (though the whole of Copacabana is like that). Met by a very helpful manager (wearing a 'Playboy' sweatshirt) we were shown a nicely designed room with a great view of the lake. The bathroom was great and nicely designed, with hot water. But the place is not really clean, and seems unfinished. Paint spatters on the windows and floors. When the room was 'cleaned' after the fist night, one bin was left unemptied and only half the towels replaced. There are only sachets of shampoo as amenities. Dust is visible under sofas etc. Electrical wires are visible in stairways, with precarious lighting. The hotel is in three 'towers' and you can hear your above and below neighbours every move, cough, conversation etc. The whole thing seems a bit unfinished and uncared for. However, that said, I cannot compare with other accommodation in Copacobana.

Onkel inn is located on the Copacabana beach, boasting amazing views of lake titicaca. It is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride (~10 Bolivianos) from the town centre where you are likely to arrive at. The hotel building itself was rather modern and isolated with not much nearby. It is very quiet at night. Stargazing at the garden is very enjoyable. There are several drawbacks described as follows: - The hotel consists of three 5-storey blocks without lifts. You may have to carry the luggage from the stairs as the hotel is understaffed, with a sole elderly gentleman on site at most times. - The water heating system broke down during our stay and hot showers were not available. This can make a huge difference for winter visitors. - The hotel staff do not speak English. - Credit cards are not accepted.

Well the rooms can be a little cold at night, the views more than compensate. Every room has a window wall with gorgeous views of Lake Titicaca. Also, every room has a sitting area with a couple of sofas to watch the sunset. And where else can you wake up and see a pack of alpacas walking down the beach? Warning: the beach is all rocks and fine for walking, but not lying out and sunning.

I stayed at Onkell for 7 days. I would describe Onkell as a hostel with a great view. The room was adequate size but cold and sterile. I thought more could have been done to control spiders, and ants. The staff of Gustavo and his chicas did everything they could to make the stay enjoyable, however, they were powerless to prevent the loss of electricity or the Internet. The offered breakfast was up and down. On some days, everything was offered. That included coffee, tea, cereal, juice, Bread, cheese, and meat. However, on some days all those items were not available. The location was good, in that you are on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The views were great. One limiting factor was no elevators since the majority of rooms were on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th floors. For me, that meant 29 steps up or down. Taxi service into Copacabana was generally available at all times.

Some rave of the customer service, but I found the suggestions and information provided to be less than helpful and at times outright wrong. Most concerning is the condition of the hotel. The huge windows are the main selling point, but they are useless if you are on the first floor as anyone can see directly into your room and you only have a view of the back of the cafe. On the upper floors, my sliding windows did not actually slide open and it is clear that the outside of the windows are not regularly cleaned. The water pressure was non-existent and the shower head was cracked meaning there was little more than a trickle. Not to mention tears in the sofa and a rotating micro-heater that no longer rotated. Furthermore, the already slow WiFi is shut off around 11 when the cafe closes. The breakfast is stated as starting at 7:30 which is a major issue as most visitors are either catching a boat to the islands at 8:30 or a bus onwards. However, what they don't tell you is they START setting up the breakfast at 7:30 and it isn't entirely ready until closer to 8. There's only enough time to cram down some dry bread w/cheese & a cold cup of coffee before running out the door. At present, it's still value for money if you are on the 2nd, 3rd floors. The 4th floor studios are way overpriced. I was lucky they mismanaged my booking and put me on the 4th floor. As such, i did, mostly, enjoy my stay. But if given a 1st floor room, the place loses any and all attraction.
