Charming heritage inn with great potential
We stayed one night in the Library Suite. The Latch Inn is a beautiful old heritage property in a great location, close to the airport and marina. The lounge and outside patio were lovely, and the nearby marina restaurant was excellent. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and seemed genuinely interested in improving the guest experience.
That said, the room itself needs attention. It was large and full of character, but some basic guest-facing details were missed: inconsistent lighting, exposed fluorescent lighting that felt out of place in a century home, small holes in the bathroom tile, a loose wall shelf, and a shower drain that backed up.
I understand the property has recently changed hands, and it feels like a place with real potential. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the location, charm, staff, and overall promise, but the room was closer to a 3-star experience. With attention to the obvious maintenance items, this could easily become a 5-star stay.
