Staff was very friendly and helpful

Wonderful location!

This property was not as pictured, noisy, and the staff was not very friendly or accommodating. Not to mention expensive for what you are getting.

Wonderful place, location, staff and dining

Hotel is centrally located and has parking right in front of the hotel for free for an hour or there is a parking lot a block away that costs about 4 CHF for a day using the EasyPark app which for some reason was about half the cost of paying at the machine.

The Appenzell area is a gorgeous rural area with phenomenal scenery. The hotel and town are traditional Swiss architecture with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the rooms comfortable. This was our favorite area in Switzerland 🇨🇭.

A classic example of warm Swiss hospitality and good living situated at the heart of a chocolate-box-beautiful village.

This property is advertised as ‘Romantic’, but just needs a major upgrade. I travel a lot including this region and the hotel is in poor condition but well maintained. Either upgrade or put it as a 2 Star hotel

Quaint, clean and cute. Beds very comfortable and bathroom exceptionally nice. Great upstairs restaurant food for breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in the pretty village of Appenzell. Very good food in restaurant and the location near to Zurich and next to the Alps is excellent. Rooms are clean and well maintained though the decor is a little dated. Great location for touring and sightseeing.
