Great place to stay, right in the heart of Orange town centre (and also close to the train station). Rooms were spacious, as was the bathroom, which was a bit dated but very clean. The food in the bistro downstairs was great, and the free drink voucher and 10% off food voucher was a nice little extra surprise. Plenty of parking in the hotel car park. Really great value for money, and we’re already planning a return visit!

Not sure what to expect because the pictures on Hotels.com really didn’t give a great indication but this place was a gem! I loved that the original features have just been refreshed rather than replaced and the nostalgia of a bygone era has been preserved. Comfy beds, fantastic showers and delicious food in the restaurant downstairs, it is most definitely where we will be staying next time we come to town!

Good central location, easy to walk to other attractions. Parking easy to access. Hotel bathrooms and bedrooms are dated but clean. Very busy bistro & dining area downstairs with good selection of meals.

The room could have been better

Reception gave free drink vouchers at the bar and discount meal vouchers, staff were friendly and room was clean.

Location and price was good but the accommodation section was non-heated except for the room which the heater was on 27 but still had to sleep in hooded jacket and keep my socks on, leaving the bathroom door open to allow the minimal heat to help warm up the bathroom to shower in morning.

Convenient location

Lovely pub with good food, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Would happily stay here again.

Great comfy bed

Very comfortable old hotel with a great vibe.

Better than expected

Room was very clean with plenty of space and a hanging cupboard. Bathroom was quite big with really good shower but very low flow in basin taps (although not a great problem). We had an issue with our first room but the staff were happy to move us to another room immediately and were very gracious about it. The hotel itself is excellent, with large bars, good variety of food, lots of space and friendly staff.

Beautiful old hotel, very clean and comfortable. The window was broken, glass had a huge gap. Did come back one evening to the window open and no towels. Went down the reception and no one was there even at 8:20. It was a bit awkward going to a packed bar just to get a towel. Other than that it was great. Lots of potential.

Great location and convenient to have the pub on the ground floor to enjoy a drink & dinner. Bathroom was OK (no shower curtain, very noisy fan) and poor TV reception. Overall, a bit noisy with music from the pub.

Good value for money

Overall enjoyed my stay, unfortunately I was in a family room travelling with a workmate, and in both of our rooms the tv didn’t work. We stayed in the same rooms seven months ago and the tv didn’t work then either.

Good room, bathroom a bit tired.

Highly recommend, love the restaurant and bar, great food and atmosphere!

Fabulous location, friendly helpful staff, it suits our needs perfectly.
