Very helpful staff who made sure we were aware of everything we needed to know and were always on hand. The room was huge and had air conditioning. Very comfy bed. Breakfast was the only meal we had in but it was of a great quality and variety. The bus stops right outside the hotel door and takes you down to town or the train station and it’s free for visitors!

First I must say this was not my first choice. I usually book the 'day of' when I arrive in a city, but this time, there was nothing reasonably priced so I found this place. I was at first a bit disappointed that I was not in the city center BUT it turns out it was a 4 stop bus ride which was about 6 minutes to get to the main train station. Please note that I am not faulting this hotel, just giving the whole picture. I arrived at the hotel only to find it was jazz themed which made me feel all warm and fuzzy. This was so cool. My room was cozy and had a Nespresso machine which made some good coffee compared to the stuff we get back in the USA. I ate dinner there once and had two breakfasts, both I thought were worth the price. The WIFI was great too. Now that you have the full picture, I will say this was a blessing in disguise and I'm more than happy I stayed here and would definitely return. The front desk was overly helpful when I had mentioned I was looking for a few things and directed me where I may find them. I only gave 4 stars for 'area around the property' as honestly there was nothing around there to do, but it was super quiet and I could see the stars at night. This place does have AC which was great as I was in Bern during a heatwave..

1920’s style hotel with friendly service. When staying you get a free bus pass to get around Bern during your stay which was a nice surprise.

Great service and very elegant hotel, but old style. High ceilings. Large metallic key. Jazz music. Great view. Lots of carpets which is an issue if you're allergic to dust mites. Also, breakfast was supposed to be served from 6.30 but was not available until 7. Very "unswiss". A little noisy for streetside rooms.

This hotel is truely unique. From September to March they have jazz groups in their basement lounge. In March April May, they host the annual Bern Jazz Festival. Many rooms have authentic material from jazz greats- our room had letters, awards and photos of the great jazz bass player Milton Hinton, who had played here. They upgraded us to a suite at no cost- 20 foot ceilings, comfortable furniture, comfortable bathroom with shower. Room and bath were immaculate. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bus to town is right in front of the hotel- they provide a Bern regional travel card so all regional buses and trains are free. Bus runs every ten minutes. Upscale, elegant but expensive restaurant, but has Marian's Cafe on the grounds for affordable breakfasts. We had two meals at the restaurant which were very good, with excellent service. Gorgeous view of the city and river from the back terrace. This hotel is a gem.

Went for concert in hotel’s jazz room. Staff excellent. Room comfortable but a little too warm. Good location, quiet but still close to everything. Great free public transport.

Beautiful hotel just outside of the city (20 minute walk) room was very nice, clean & spacious however the air con wasn’t great & given the hot temperatures made sleeping difficult. Service was fantastic, helpful & frendly & I would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Freundliches Personal. :-(
