I didn't like that we were charged for breakfast on the second day, (which we booked directly with the hotel , not on Expedia like the first day) when we didn't have it. Obviously the money was taken from our account before breakfast instead of waiting for the list to come from the dining room showing who had breakfast. Room and staff were lovely.

All very nice although I think the property would benefit from a swimming pool ie built in the grounds where the old greenhouse is located

Rather tired hotel but central location. No restaurant for dinner. Breakfast only from 7:30 weekdays so not great if you need to get away and want a cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Pillows as hard as concrete, not the best for a good nights sleep

Very pleasant and comfortable. Spacious rooms in a large old stone-walled mansion very near the centre of Swanage and not far from the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. Large garden and ample parking.

The hotel was fine just not worth £230 for a double-room without breakfast. The bed was comfortable and everything worked fine and the staff were friendly. I wouldn't rate it as 'superior double'.

Small single bed. Hotel was relatively empty so could have been upgraded but wasn’t. Overly expensive. No food on offer.

It is a most unique and quirky property. Loved its quirkiness and history. Staff were excellent. Room was fine. Would stay here again.

Great historic building, in centre of town and very close to beach, coast path and railway station. A little tired in places, plenty of parking. Enjoyable stay.

Room was nice and covered all our needs for our weekend stay. Some parts of the building and grounds could do with some tlc. But generally absolutely fine and staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Very nice and comfortable room, with lovely gardens and views. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the staff most friendly and helpful. Very convenient off-street parking. Would certainly stay again.

Beautiful old building. Had everything I needed except for a shower as in I had to take the shower in the bath, which is not my favourite thing.

What a lovely old building to stay in. Very relaxed. Wonderful grounds, although perhaps a little more attention could be on the fish pond. We were in the additional annex, with a really large, spacious room with two additional beds separated, and a large king size bed. All the usual items, tv, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, chest of drawers, make up table with mirror, full length mirror, heater, two windows (opening), a pair of armchairs and a wardrobe with a dozen wooden hangers. The not small toilet room had a bath, shower, wc and washbowl with work surface and mirror. Naturally a heated towel rail was fitted to the wall. A full size closing door completed the suite. Definately a family room and as such extremely good value.

We arrived tired and late after a SWCP walk and received a warm welcome from staff who went out if their way to accommodate our particular needs. The room was spotless and the hotel very stylish. Location is good and allows easy access into the busy town, and on site parking was plentiful

On arrival, we were met by the receptionist, who was very pleasant and extremely helpful showing us where to store our bikes and making recommendations for local restaurants. Our room was large and well-appointed. The hotel is housed in a large old stone building. Yes, it looks tiring in places but nothing to spoil your stay. Breakfast was good, maybe a better choice of fresh fruit but that is being picky. I will definately be returning to this hotel

I was impressed from the moment I saw this attractive stone building, on a slight rise which gives good views of the beauty of Swanage Bay and the nearby coast. A very friendly and helpful welcome from the moment I came through the door, but not overdone either. My room had a view of the bay and was comfortable and completely clean (as was the entire place). A good space for breakfast - does not do evening meals but many nearby possibilities for that. Large and well cared for garden area an additional amenity. For the price I paid it exceeded my expectations and I can certainly envisage returning for a longer stay, it would be a good base for exploring this attractive part of the country.
