Nice country pub / hotel

Food was excellent, pub was nice, breakfast was nice. Room was nice and comfortable but bathroom let it down, toilet had not been flushed and was full of toilet paper, cold shower would not heat up tried everything and then basin in shower was blocked and filled with water quickly. Still a lovely old pub

Very nice location, great customer service, choice for B'fast & clean. The property needs big improvements as it can be very hot in summer days! fan was supplied but didn't help much, we had ground floor room couldn't leave the curtains & window open as no net to keep flies away and to have privacy as can see people traffic outside your room window. Lovely surroundings to have picnic.

Average facilities, carpet was not cleaned and the shower tray had mould all around and smelled of mould, the shower tray had dark grease type stuff and so we did not use the shower.

Great stop over for Stanstead only 20mins away. Friendly staff, comfortable, clean rooms and excellent food

The riom was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, both were great!

Lovely stay - very good food (Dinner and Breakfast). Large room, comfortable bed and excellent shower (digital temperature controlled). Helpful staff. Large carpark - suitable for Airport stays too. Quiet area.

Whilst the rooms are well appointed, it's within an old building which shows particularly in places like the bathroom. Breakfast is served relatively late but myself and many of my fellow guests had to forego eating as a key member of staff was late and, even at 8.15 breakfast was not available. They did contact afterwards to apologise and offer a refund on the missed breakfast though. Most of the staff I spoke to were excellent with one or two notable exceptions who must have missed customer service training.

Rooms large & clean , corridor could do with a clean ( radiator window frames) Stayed in room 6 , no sound proofing what so ever with room 7 , everything could be heard ect. Not good when they turn the tv on at 6 am 🙈 Staff lovely & friendly.

Location for Stansted Airport good, in country though. Nice room, bed & shower but dinner is only up to 8:30pm and no breakfast available for early flights as it’s only served from 8am and needed to leave by 7:15. They did offer a takeaway breakfast but it was poor (they don’t normally offer it) and needs to be organised properly for it to be beneficial to the customer.

Back again after a couple of year gap - glad we did. Much improved wi-fi. Same awesome food and staff - lovely rooms - we will be back

Nice very remote location, pub very nice, room however had issues, door handle came off, shower tray stained and dirty, dressing table and bedside tables very sticky, fan had the front missing so not usable, room not ready at 3.00. Needs TLC to make it worth the price charged.

Very welcoming and Andy particularly helpful. Nice room and very comfortable bed. All as it should be and an enjoyable breakfast. Would certainly stop at this pub again..

The property was a lot shabbier than it looked in the photos. They tried to take payment two days before we arrived, even tho I chose pay on arrival. The staff were a bit bolshy about it when I called. We booked a ‘King’ room but it was only a double bed. I’m not following up as it was only one night and visiting relatives. Would not stay here again

Really liked the pub. We stayed for a wedding in the local area. Accommodation was quiet, bed was comfortable and the bed linen and towels were great quality.

The staff was wonderful! Andy went out of his way to accommodate us for an early flight. And the fish pie was scrumptious!

Lovely little find! We stayed there as we were going to a gig at Audley End. The staff were extremely friendly, very helpful in organising our taxi to and from the gig. Foodwise, we enjoyed a lovely lunch outside and the breakfast the next morning was delicious (perfect after the festivities at Audley End). Very reasonably priced, clean rooms. Would definitely stay again and will be telling all my friends!

Enjoyable stay and very convenient location if your attending an event at Parklands nearby. The breakfast options are plentiful and the energetic host Andy is a top guy!

Stayed for a wedding so great location as close to the venue. Friendly welcome. Amazing shower and decent breakfast. Just needs updating a little.
