We stayed at this hotel in Tokyo for five nights, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. When we first checked in, there was a very strong unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom or sink. It was so bad we couldn’t stay in the room comfortably. The host was responsive and came to help, sent extra towels, and added some kind of room fragrance. That helped for one night, but the smell kept coming back. We tried closing the sink and bought our own air fresheners, but nothing worked. The bathroom had mold all over — on the sink, corners, and especially the shower curtain. We were all careful not to touch it while showering because it was so disgusting. These are things that can be easily fixed with proper cleaning or by replacing the curtain, which is cheap and easy to get. What bothered me most was how unhealthy it felt staying in this room. I constantly felt like I was breathing in moldy air. It was extremely uncomfortable and I didn’t want to come back to sleep there each night. While the customer service was great, we didn’t reach out again because we knew this wasn’t something that could be solved with room sprays. The location was great, in the heart of the city, but I would not recommend this place to anyone until these cleanliness issues are seriously addressed.

The flat is close to everything which was great. The down side was I couldn't open most of the windows due to a smelly trash pile and the other window was about a foot from the smoking area. I wouldn't recommend room 101 for non smokers. The trash problem did eventually get fixed about a day before we left. The toilet left much to be desired as most public bathrooms like at train stations are much nicer. It didn't even have a cheap bidet seat. I also had to buy TP and other things for the unit. When trying to check out the tablet and site weren't working. All and all, I will probably stay at a hotel next time.

The location, proximity to various shops, restaurants, train stations, etc. were wonderful. We do not regret making a reservation here. The check-in and check-out processes were straight-forward. The property was satisfactory, and most of the amenities were great. But we found some blond hair strands under the blanket (None of us are blond). Some food crumbs were inside inside the fold-out bed. Also a used chopstick under the desk. The garbage disposal area was horrible. Not the fault of the owner/managemant of this property, but rather the other guests who were completely disrespecting the basic rules: not separating the plastics bottles and beer cans from regular garbage and food composts. So in the early morning there was a huge mess caused by crows and rats roaming in the area.

This property is well situated. Once you are checked in, Shin-Okubo station is to your right. There’s a fruit shop, grocery shop, and a Don Quijote store near by. There’s also tons of restaurants around. The room we had was on the 2nd floor, if you have luggage’s just be careful. If you plan on having your lugggages sent to your next destination or you want to transfer your luggage’s from the airport, Yamato will deliver it to the closest location, which is on Hyakunincho. It’s a six minute walk, don’t follow the Apple Maps, once you get off the property, McDonald is on your left, walk straight pass the Okubo station, turn left on the stop light and it’s a few feet to your left. The people at Yamato was nice. I will definitely stay here again.
